I used to have breast implants, and if I’m completely truthful, I got them because at that time in my life I didn’t feel like my natural body was enough.
I thought my breasts were too small. I thought implants would make me feel more feminine, more attractive and more confident. At 25, I never really thought about what I was putting inside my body or what that decision might mean years later. I just thought I would look better and therefore feel better.
Then came Botox, fillers and all the other little things that slowly become normal when everyone around you is doing them too.
Looking back now, I can see I was trying to change something externally that was never really about my appearance in the first place.
Years later, my health completely collapsed.
I wasn’t just tired. I was so exhausted that even normal life became difficult. My body ached, my gut was a mess, my hormones were completely out of balance, I was inflamed, anxious, foggy and felt like my whole system was struggling to function.
My implants ruptured three times. Silicone spread through my body. I went through five surgeries and eventually had lymph nodes removed.
And explanting did not magically make me well again.
Why had I ever believed my natural body needed changing for me to feel beautiful or enough?
That question changed a lot for me.
It is also why I understand the women who come to me now saying, “Something hasn’t been right since my implants,” or, “I’ve had them removed, but I still feel incredibly unwell.”
I know what that feels like because I lived it.
If you have explanted and you are still dealing with crushing fatigue, inflammation, gut problems, hormonal chaos, brain fog, anxiety, pain or that overwhelming feeling that your body has simply never recovered, removing the implants may only have been the first part of the journey.
For me, healing became far bigger than explant surgery. It became about detoxifying, rebuilding and understanding what years of chronic stress and exposure had done to my body.
