One resource can support so many different language goals! 💬✨
The activity may look simple, but the way it is used can be adapted depending on each person’s communication needs.
Using just one book, game, puzzle or picture scene, we may work on:
✨ Vocabulary — learning, naming and describing new words
✨ Following instructions — listening for key information and completing different steps
✨ Sentence building — creating clear, complete and more detailed sentences
✨ Inferencing — using clues to work out information that has not been directly stated
✨ Storytelling — sequencing events and explaining what happened
The resource is only one part of the session. The questions, prompts, modelling and level of support are carefully adjusted to suit each individual and their goals.

✨ Following instructions — put the monkey on the floor
✨ Sentence building — The tall giraffes are eating crunchy leaves.
✨ Inferencing — Where do you think the family with the baby will go next?
✨ Storytelling — The monkeys jumped from tree to tree, bothering the animals in the zoo. The zookeepers had to help get the cheeky monkeys back to their enclosure.
