The Woolcock Institute, in partnership with the Macquarie University Cyber Skills Academy, is running a Cyber Safe Workplace Training program. The first training session was very well received, with 68 participants taking part.

The training focused on developing practical cyber safety skills, increasing awareness of evolving cyber threats, and reinforcing good cyber hygiene practices across the organisation.

By investing in cyber capability and awareness, we continue to build a safer, more resilient workplace for our staff, research community, and stakeholders.

Thank you to the Macquarie University Cyber Skills Academy and all attendees for contributing to this important initiative.

Sue MacGillycuddy lived with significant respiratory disease for most of her life and and chose to leave a bequest to the Woolcock in her will. Our work looks beyond the treatments available today and asks whether there could be a better way. Our Clinical Management research group is working on a new approach using advanced breath analysis technology that could help transform the way respiratory conditions are identified and managed.

They will be using a device called the SpiroNose to collect, analyse and store breathprints, hoping they can train it to recognise patterns associated with respiratory conditions and become a simple, non-invasive diagnostic tool for clinicians. The recent PBS listing of Nucala for eligible patients is welcome news for Australians living with COPD. Our Airway Physiology and Imaging research leader Professor Greg King says the listing provides subsidised access to an additional treatment option for people who continue to experience flare-ups despite inhaler triple therapy.
