ACT radiologists and radiation oncologists came together for the 2026 Branch of Origin and Annual General Meeting.

Congratulations to Dr Neha Paranjape, winner of the 2026 ACT Branch of Origin, for her presentation "Impact of Breast Density on VAB Microcalcification Retrieval Rates."

Thank you to Drs Jason Szczepanski, Neha Paranjape, Shiwei Huang and Mark Zureik for sharing their expertise, covering topics from stereotactic breast biopsy to prostate MRI, and to Joe Caristo (Medi Financial) for his valuable financial insights.

Two days in Wellington meeting parliamentarians across the House ahead of November's election. Our delegation was led by Dr Jash Agraval, Chair of the NZ Branch, and Dr Shaun Costello, Chair of the NZ Radiation Oncology Executive.

Our thanks to Hon Casey Costello MP, Associate Minister of Health (NZ First); Todd Stephenson MP, Spokesperson for Health (ACT); Reuben Davidson MP, Spokesperson for Science, Technology and Innovation (Labour); and Catherine Wedd MP, Member for Tukituki (National). We were also glad to speak with Hon David Seymour MP, Deputy Prime Minister and Associate Minister of Health (ACT), during our time at Parliament.

We discussed RANZCR's four election priorities: regulation of AI used as a medical device, connected digital infrastructure for imaging and cancer care, a permanent funding solution for maternity ultrasound, and cancer treatment and imaging infrastructure that keeps pace with demand.

We look forward to working with all political parties to ensure delivery of these priorities.

What a fantastic day at the Tasmania Branch Annual Scientific Meeting, held on Saturday 8 August at the Peppers Silo Hotel in Launceston. 🌟

The program featured presentations from Dr Rajiv Rattan, Melissa Doyle, Dr Frank Gaillard, Dr Tom Sutherland and Dr Henry Knipe, covering topics ranging from policy and advocacy to neuroradiology, abdominal imaging and musculoskeletal imaging.

🏆Congratulations to Dr Eleanor Nicklason, winner of the Branch of Origin competition, and thank you to Dr Cara Lucas for convening such a successful event.
