Very sad news. Yet another tragic case of potentially temple filler gone horribly wrong. Thoughts with the grief stricken.

A worryingly increasing percentage of my younger male patients that I see in my hospital gigs. Rhoid’ rage in combo with alcohol and illicit drugs is a seriously scary and deadly phenomenon.

Discouraging and worrying news is mounting about excessive Cannabis use and severe mental health consequences.
A cautionary warning to coo services and scripting practitioners to exercise due care and attention to moderate and heavy users, particularly at risk patients with past mental health history or family mental health history.
Appropriate prescriber training and conservative prescribing practices will need to be more and more encouraged if these potentially devastating and life altering statistics are to be reversed. Appropriately prescribed cod products can be very beneficial for many eligible patients to treat many conditions such as MS, PD, and chronic pain among others, far more effectively than conventional medicines including opioids.
Tighter regulation is thankfully ongoing, so we should hope things get better.

A stimulating article this month in the Aesthetic Medical Practitioner about the use of ultrasound with aesthetic treatments. Does it make things safer or give you a false sense of security, meaning you take on more risk? Worth considering. In my practice I use Ultrasound strictly for the purposes of managing adverse outcomes within my practice, while training students and helping manage adverse incidents for colleagues. It remains my firm belief and persists to be a cornerstone of my teaching style that being cautious and utilising safe manual technique cannot be underestimated and cannot be replaced.
