I am a Clinical Psychologist, International Bestselling Author and Speaker. I am reaching out to ask some help. 2 years ago I wrote a children’s book “Even Lions get Scared” to help children tackle the struggles of anxiety. I wanted them to know they could do hard things and to understand why. I aligned myself with the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation as children in this space face fear everyday. It was published by Cherish/Trigger publishing in 2024 who have since gone into liquidation. My struggle is that the publisher put it on Amazon to sell and now I can’t get it off! I have spent over 10 plus hours on calls to all departments across Amazon and no one can cancel the account. I have the exclusive rights to my book and have not been paid a cent nor has the charity from the sales on Amazon. If anyone can help, has suggestions I would be so grateful as I would like my book in the world and for children in the charity who are doing it so tough to benefit from its sales.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions or help to resolve this ongoing challenge.
Warmest Wishes Marcelle

Lean into connection when opportunity arises as stories are central to our humanness..when we sit beside someone and listen we open ourselves up to change and possibility… teens who talk to you

We’re not taught how to do this.

When our teen is hurting, overwhelmed or shutting down, everything in us wants to fix it… fast.

Not because we don’t care
But because discomfort feels unsafe.

Sitting in the Yuck™ is about doing something different.

It’s staying.
Listening.
Holding space for the feeling - without rushing it away.

Because connection isn’t built in the fixing.
It’s built in the staying.

What does Sitting in the Yuck™ actually mean?

It means staying present when your teen’s feelings are big, messy or hard to hear.

It means resisting the urge to fix, minimise, lecture or rush them into feeling better.

Because sometimes the moment your teen needs most is not a solution.

It’s safety.
It’s presence.
It’s the quiet message:
You are not too much. I can sit here with you.

I created the Sitting in the Yuck™ framework to help parents build trust, strengthen connection and create space for the conversations that matter most.

“Your teen doesn’t need a perfect parent. They need a present one.”
Because in the moments that matter most, it’s not about having the right words…it’s about staying.
Staying when it’s uncomfortable.
Staying when you want to fix it.
Staying when their feelings feel too big.
This is the heart of Sitting in the Yuck™ - choosing connection over control, and presence over perfection.
Those quiet, awkward, in-between moments?
That’s where trust is built. That’s where your teen learns they’re not alone.
