When people talk about career progression in allied health, it often sounds like moving away from the reason you entered the profession in the first place.
But progression doesn't have to mean leaving client care behind.
Five and a half years ago, Shannon joined Longevity as a new graduate. Like many early-career clinicians, she had plenty of enthusiasm, but also plenty of uncertainty. She wasn't looking for a leadership role, she was simply looking for a place where she could become a great Exercise Physiologist.
What she found was much more than that.
An environment that encouraged continual learning, welcomed feedback, and viewed growth as something that happened both inside and outside the clinic.
Over time, Shannon realised that the clinician she became was directly shaped by the person she was becoming. Better habits, better mentors, meaningful relationships and a willingness to embrace discomfort all influenced the way she coached clients, supported colleagues and approached leadership.
Today, Shannon leads an incredible team while continuing to work directly with clients every week.
That combination is intentional.
At Longevity, we don't see leadership and clinical practice as separate career paths. We believe the best leaders stay connected to the people they serve, and that the best clinicians continue to grow beyond their technical skills.
Career progression shouldn't require you to choose between helping clients and continuing to develop professionally. The most meaningful careers create opportunities to do both.
That's the kind of career we're passionate about building.
If you're looking for a workplace where you can build a long-term career with purpose, while continuing to do the work you love, we'd love to hear from you:
