Tonight, the staff at Majestic Funerals would like to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a devastating and progressive condition that affects thousands of Australians and their families.
Just recently the AFL community lost Neale Daniher- a man whose courage, resilience and unwavering determination inspired an entire nation. After a long and brave battle with Motor Neurone Disease, Neale's legacy extends far beyond football. Through his work with , he gave hope to countless families and helped drive vital research in the fight against this devastating disease.
His famous message, "Play On," will continue to inspire Australians for generations to come. Our thoughts are with Jan, his family, friends, and everyone whose lives were touched by this extraordinary man. Neale was only 65 years old. Rest peacefully, Neale. Your fight, your spirit, and your legacy will never be forgotten.
The rugby league community has also come together recently to rally around former NRL star and Queensland representative Jai Arrow following his heartbreaking MND diagnosis, which forced him into an early retirement from the game he loves. It was such a touching tribute provided to him at last nights match between South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Brisbane Broncos with Souths bringing home the win. Jai is only 30 years old.
Despite facing one of life's toughest battles, Jai has shown incredible courage, strength and determination, inspiring people across Australia.
MND is a progressive neurological disease that impacts a person's ability to move, speak, swallow and eventually breathe. While there is currently no cure, awareness, research and support can make a significant difference for those living with the disease and their loved ones.
As a community, we are reminded of the importance of compassion, kindness and supporting those facing unimaginable challenges. Our thoughts are with Jai, his fiancΓ©e Berina and their little girl Ayla Tae. We also keep Jaiβs immediate and also his extended family, and every individual and family affected by MND.
Together, we can help spread awareness and hope.
