Automated insulin delivery systems don’t make type 1 diabetes disappear, but they can dramatically reduce the mental burden of living with it.

Unfortunately, fewer than one in four Australians living with type 1 diabetes currently have access to this life-changing technology.

A huge thank you to the DANII Foundation for inviting me to speak at this year’s ball and for shining a spotlight on this important issue. Funds raised will help provide grants to people who simply cannot afford these systems, while also supporting advocacy for government funding.

Investing in this technology is not only the right thing to do—it’s a cost-effective investment in health, wellbeing, and quality of life for Australians living with type 1 diabetes.
