Today, the Australian Government will conduct a national test of the AusAlert emergency warning system. This means many mobile phones across Australia may receive a test emergency alert, accompanied by a loud notification sound and message.

For some people who use a hidden or undisclosed device, this alert could affect their safety. If you use a concealed or hidden phone as part of your safety plan, consider whether receiving emergency alerts on that device is right for your situation.

If you do not want to receive the test alert, you will need to turn your device off or switch it to Aeroplane Mode before the test. Please note – devices that are set to silent will still receive the alert.

The AusAlert test is scheduled for 2pm (AEST).

Are you looking for a supportive space to talk about food, body image and your sense of self?

Our free, peer-led support group is for adults (18 and over) and has been co-designed with people who have lived experience. Through open conversation and meaningful connection, you’ll have the opportunity to build self-awareness, foster a sense of belonging, and practice self-compassion in a safe, inclusive environment.

It was wonderful to be part of the recent Tharawal Family Fun Day in Campbelltown, celebrating NAIDOC Week alongside the local community.

Our Mental Health Service Navigation – South Western Sydney team loved meeting everyone who stopped by the One Door Mental Health stall to have a yarn, paint, and learn more about the supports and services available in the community.

Thank you to everyone who visited us and helped make the day such a fun and welcoming event!

One Door and Mind Australia want to hear from people with psychosocial disability, carers, family members and supporters about their experiences of the NDIS.

Your voice can help strengthen our advocacy to ensure the scheme is fair, accessible and responsive to the needs of people with psychosocial disability.

The anonymous, voluntary survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. Complete the survey by Sunday 19 July: https://mindaustralia.snapforms.com.au/form/ndis-experiences-survey

One Door staff and community members came together in Wollondilly to celebrate NAIDOC Week and recognise the history, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The day began with a Welcome to Country from Aunty Karen, followed by a welcome from Wollondilly Shire Mayor Matt Gould, a smoking ceremony, and cultural dances performed by children and young people from Dharawal and Gundungurra Country.

With more than 30 local stalls, service providers, and food vendors taking part in the event, it was a special celebration of First Nations culture, community, and connection.

One Door staff in South West Sydney helped kick off NAIDOC Week 2026 by attending Campbelltown City Police’s annual touch football competition!

Off the field, Jessica, Chelsea, Pandora and Ben from our Campbelltown team had the opportunity to connect and yarn with community members, sharing information about our mental health support services and programs available across South West Sydney.

We were also honoured to receive a plaque from Yarning Crescent in recognition of our ongoing support of the Campbelltown City Police touch football competition and our commitment to the broader Campbelltown community.

Frank – Aboriginal Peer Practitioner (Kamilaroi/Tamworth).

“To me, NAIDOC is more than a celebration – it’s an opportunity to listen, learn and reflect on the resilience of such an old living culture. I look forward to the release of the NAIDOC Week poster each year. It’s always a nostalgic time for me, bringing back memories of primary school and events that brought everyone together.”

Thanks to Frank, a member of our Deadly Minds Network, for sharing what NAIDOC means to him. The Deadly Minds Network is a virtual community that brings together First Nations staff from Mind Australia and One Door to connect, share experiences and support one another.

Frank (pictured below) says one of the most rewarding parts of his role is making a positive difference in people’s lives. “Working in a short-term (three-week) program is great to see how much can change within that time. Supporting someone as they move from feeling overwhelmed to feeling hopeful, connected and ready for the next step in their journey is awesome to see.”

One Door and Mind Australia welcome the New South Wales Government's continued investment in mental health and su***de prevention in the 2026-2027 NSW Budget.

However, we are concerned that it doesn't deliver the scale of reform needed to ensure people living with mental health challenges and psychosocial disability can access ongoing, recovery-focused support in their communities.
