Bushland Shire Funerals offers a distinctly personal approach, working closely with you to create a farewell that truly honours your loved one’s life. Whether you prefer a traditional service or a more intimate family gathering, we are here to support your wishes.

A traditional service can be held in a church or crematorium chapel, providing a classic setting for reflection. Alternatively, a family farewell allows you to choose a venue or location that resonates with your loved one—such as a local club, community centre or home. This option offers the flexibility to host the service and refreshments in one convenient place, giving you meaningful time to share memories and connect with family and friends.

What sets BSF apart from other funeral homes?
At BSF, we do things differently. We come to you, offering a modern, person-focused experience in the comfort of your own home.
By operating as a lean, boutique service rather than a traditional, high-overhead funeral home, we eliminate the unnecessary costs of a brick-and-mortar facility. This allows us to focus our full attention on your family and provide more meaningful, affordable support when you need it most.
"She made my life so easy, I just made a phone call, and Julie visited my home with all the information, she made things so easy for me..." Pam.

There have been a few great changes with BSF. One of which is a new logo to coincide with becoming a completely independent, family owned, funeral business. We service the Sydney area, specialising in the Northern Suburbs, Upper North Shore & the Bushland Shire. Over the coming weeks, we will share more about our operations and what sets us apart from others in our industry. If you find yourself in the position of needing a Funeral Director, we are ready to assist you.

Witness Insertion

Are you aware that you can spend a few moments with your loved one in the cremator area prior to their cremation (coffin must remain closed). You can also witness your persons coffin enter the cremator. For some, being there to this end is important. For many other cultures it is traditional to be part of this process.

The path in the photo leads to the door of a private room where a witness insertion takes place.

Did you know that funeral services can be uplifting? The recognition of one’s life in its entirety can teach us not only about the things we never knew, it can inspire us as we move forward with our lives.

Holding a funeral service in a place that is either authentic to your loved one or removed from the traditional funeral spaces can also assist with an uplifting experience.

will help you achieve this.

The Magnolia tree in Julie’s yard has taken such a long time to produce flowers. It has grown tall and lush but only recently began blooming.

This tree was gifted to Julie from some very dear friends when her mother died almost 14yrs ago. As she has watched it grow and patiently waited for the florals, she has always stopped to think of her Mum and her friends.

A gifted living legacy, such as this Magnolia Tree, provides a focal point to recall love - a mothers love and friends love. The years have moved on, the tree has grown and now bloomed and the love remains unchanged - steady, dependable and felt.

A living legacy is a heartfelt reminder for those that have experienced the death of a loved one.
