We can't ignore the mind/body connection when modern life demands that we sit for hours, scroll past our hunger and tiredness, override signals with caffeine, and push through until the body gets louder.

Swipe to learn the constant loop that happens between our mind and our body.

Follow along for more on understanding your nervous system and how to regulate it in modern life.

“My mind feels less busy.”
That was one of the messages that appeared in the chat after Focus Reset.

Then came more:
“Calm.”
“Balanced.”
“Brave.”
“Calm, poised, confident.”
“The best pre-presenting work ever.”
“Amazing.”
“Incredible.”
My heart filled with joy when reading them!

For 30 minutes, a group of busy humans stepped away from whatever was waiting for them and experienced how working with their breath could change the way they felt.

This is why I love experiential work. You don’t need to understand every detail of the nervous system or convince yourself that breathwork will help. You can notice how you feel before the practice, experience it and compare how you feel afterwards.

If you missed the live session, I’ve now made the recording available for instant access.
Find somewhere comfortable, give yourself 30 minutes and experience the shift for yourself!

You wanted the opportunity. So why are you suddenly avoiding it?
Maybe it’s a bigger role, an important presentation or a decision you know you need to make. You feel excited about it, but then the doubts begin, your body becomes tense and suddenly scrolling, snacking or finding something easier to do feels much more appealing.

We all have ways of reaching for quick relief when something feels uncomfortable.

Breathwork gives you something practical to work with in those moments. Changing how you breathe can influence how activated you feel and help you experience that your state isn’t fixed.

With practice, you can recognise what’s happening sooner, pause before automatically reaching for a distraction and choose the next step you actually want to take.

Want to feel that shift for yourself?
Join me tomorrow for The Focus Reset, a free 30-minute online session.

How long does a difficult meeting stay with you after it ends?

You may have moved on to the next task, yet your shoulders are still tense, your mind is replaying what was said and focusing feels harder than it should.

When pressure has been building for days or weeks, it can become so "normal" that you don’t realise how much you’re carrying until something changes.

The Focus Reset is an opportunity to pause, turn your attention inward and experience how working with your breath can change the way you feel.

Notice how you feel when we begin. Practise with me. Compare how you feel afterwards.
How different could you feel after 30 minutes?

Sceptics are some of my favourite people to guide through breathwork.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about watching someone arrive thinking, “I’m not sure this is for me,” and then open their eyes after the practice looking surprised by how different they feel.

Michelle Broadbent was one of those people.

We first met earlier this year when we were both invited to co-facilitate a workshop. She later came to a couple of my public breathwork sessions, experienced the work for herself and eventually decided to introduce it to her Accountability Circle community at its annual conference.

While introducing me, Michelle openly shared that she had initially been sceptical and wasn’t a meditator. I loved her honesty because I imagine quite a few people in the room may have been thinking the same thing.

Across the two days, I guided a 10-minute breath and movement reset, followed by a longer 40 min breathwork experience. Watching a room full of business owners pause, turn their attention inward and give themselves time to breathe was incredibly special.

Thank you, Michelle, for trusting me with your community and for creating such a beautifully organised experience.

And now I’m ready for my next group of sceptics. 😏

If meditation has never been your thing, you struggle to sit still or you’re simply wondering whether breathing differently can genuinely change how you feel, come and experience it for yourself.

The Focus Reset is a free 30-minute online session happening next Thursday, 24 September at 12pm AEST.

You don’t need to arrive convinced. Notice how you feel when we begin, practise with me and let your own experience decide.

Closing your laptop doesn’t necessarily mean your working day has ended for your body.

You might be sitting at home, yet you’re still replaying a conversation, thinking about what you forgot or mentally preparing for tomorrow. Your jaw is tight, your shoulders are raised and your breathing still carries the pace of the day.

Before moving straight into your evening, try this:
Place both feet on the floor and look around the room. Let your eyes take in where you are. Soften your jaw, drop your shoulders and take five gentle breaths, allowing each exhale to be slightly longer than the inhale.

Then notice what changes.

This won’t erase a difficult week, but it can give your body a cue that the immediate pressure has passed, so you don’t carry every stressful moment directly into the next one.

If you’d like to experience this with guidance, join me for The Focus Reset, a free 30-minute online session on Thursday 24 September at 12pm AEST. A seven-day replay will be available.

Some days, I notice I’ve been sitting in front of the same task for twenty minutes while my attention is everywhere else. I open another tab, check my phone and then get irritated with myself because I know I should be able to focus.

These days, I try to pause before turning it into another reason to judge myself. I check how long I’ve been rushing, whether I’m holding my breath and how much pressure I’ve been carrying. Sometimes a few minutes of slower, steadier breathing is the most useful thing I can do before asking my brain to concentrate again.

Want to test it for yourself?

Join me for The Focus Reset, a free 30-minute online session on 24 September at 12pm AEST, and notice how you feel when you arrive and again at the end.

I was already a trained breathwork practitioner when I burned out.

That experience forced me to confront something uncomfortable: knowing the tools is not the same as having the capacity to use them.

As the pressure kept rising, the practices that supported me became the first things I dropped. I kept telling myself I would return to them when work calmed down, but it never really did.

Burnout made me look beyond individual techniques and understand what my nervous system needed underneath them. Once my system began to settle, I could gradually rebuild the routines that helped me feel clear, energised and capable again.

That experience shapes how I work today. Breathwork can be a powerful place to begin because it offers an immediate way to influence your state, while nervous system performance is about developing the capacity to notice the signs, respond earlier, meet pressure with the appropriate level of activation and recover afterwards.

Come and experience the first shift for yourself. Book your free place through the link in bio or in the comments.

I don’t always catch the moment my focus disappears. Sometimes I keep scrolling, switching between tasks and trying to push through until I realise I’m adding more noise to an already overloaded system.
This is when I close the laptop and come back to what is happening around me and inside my body. I look around, feel the support beneath me and notice my breath before deciding what might help.
The practice changes depending on what I need. Today, it was alternate nostril breathing and a stretch.
Five minutes won’t remove the pressure, but they can give me enough space to return with clearer attention.
