Feeling tired but still unable to switch off?
Sometimes the problem isn't that you're not getting enough rest.
You may be spending your whole day taking in information, responding to messages, working, thinking, planning, solving problems, and moving from one thing to the next.
Even when you finally stop, your mind may still be āon.ā
Over time, having very little space to pause and recover can leave you feeling tired, wired, irritable, foggy, or simply like you never quite recharge.
This is one reason I look beyond sleep when working with fatigue.
As a Naturopath, I look at the bigger picture - your symptoms, lifestyle, nutrition, stress, sleep, digestion, hormones, and, when available, recent blood test results.
And mindfulness can be another piece of the puzzle.
Not because you need to be calm all the time.
But because creating small moments to pause, notice, and step away from constant input may give your mind and body a little more space for recovery.
Too much stimulation.
Not enough recovery.
Maybe recovery isn't about doing more.
Maybe sometimes, it's about giving yourself permission to stop.
