Hi ladies!

If your goal this 2026 is to:
- Increase your strength and lean body mass
- Improve your bone density
- Optimize your balance and reduce your falls risk
- Feel stronger and more confident with movement
This program is for you!
Term 4, 9 week ladies strength training program starts on the 12th of October 2026!

Sandy is an Exercise Physiologist with 25 years experience. She has opened up a new studio in Randwick and has been running some small group strength and weight training groups.

The focus is to educate you on how to utilise weights to increase your muscle mass and bone density. We know as our estrogen drops going into perimenopause and menopause it leads to reduction in our muscle mass and bone density.
The program will also be focusing on balance training exercises.

It’s a 9-week program for Term 4 and you can choose to join 1, 2 or 3 sessions per week.
Limited spots available and some classes are already full! Get in touch if you would like to join so we can secure your spot to get stronger in 2026! 💪

Fill in the form if you are interested in joining and we will send you some more information.

Managing your mental health often takes a 360-degree approach and can involve lifestyle tweaks ranging from nutrition, exercise, and sleep—along with therapy and medication as needed. And though many people think of endorphins, cardio, and HIIT for mental health benefits, new research suggests weightlifting may also help. 💪

The study, which was published in the Journal of Affective Disorders, links multiple types of strength training with fewer symptoms of depression in women with anxiety disorders. While the research doesn’t suggest a new strength training habit can change your mental health, the association implies that adding weightlifting to what you’re already doing could help. 🙌 If you need help putting together an exercise program specific to your requirements, contact us as our exercise physiologists can offer face to face or telehealth consult. Get Repost App • Sharelle Grant I’ve noticed a growing trend of people saying that strength training is optional.

While different types of exercise (like cardio, pilates, yoga or sports) do involve resistance, they don’t deliver the same stimulus or benefits as progressive strength training… and they’re not meant to.

Maybe I’m biased. I’ve spent years as a Nurse watching women lose their independence, and years as a coach watching women reclaim it. Strength training is the common thread.

Nothing replaces it.

It’s the foundation for building and maintaining muscle and bone density as we age.

All exercise has benefits, they just serve different purposes.

Don’t skip your weight training, it’s essential ❤️

It’s a familiar rite of passage: You hit the big 5-0, and suddenly life feels a little harder. Maybe the grocery bags are starting to feel like lead, you’re a bit more winded after climbing the stairs, or you now let out a groan when getting up off the couch. These might all be normal changes that can happen with age, but that doesn’t mean that you have to accept them. 🤔

There’s one powerful healthy aging habit that can help you counteract the newfound creaks that come with getting older: regularly lifting weights. And it’s never too late to pick up a dumbbell for the first time. “There’s no age limit on the muscle’s ability to gain strength or muscle mass.” 🏋 When you lift weights at age 50 (or beyond!), that helps support bone and joint health, build muscle strength and lean muscle mass, and improve balance and mobility. If you need help putting together an exercise program specific to your requirements, contact us as our exercise physiologists can offer face to face or telehealth consult. Strength isn’t just about exercise. It’s about handling the unpredictability of life with more confidence and capability.

Bone health may not be something you think about every day, but it's silently working behind the scenes to keep you strong and supported from the inside out. However, hormonal changes throughout life—from pregnancy to menopause—can quietly weaken your bones without you even realizing it. And while osteoporosis might not show obvious symptoms until it's too late, there’s something powerful you can do about it now: weight-bearing exercise. 💪

Studies show that resistance exercises for bone health are essential for maintaining and improving bone density. This may include using free weights, weight machines, medicine balls, resistance bands, or walking with a weighted vest to increase the load on your bones and build strength—weight-bearing bodyweight exercises can even work! 🏋️‍♀️ If you need help putting together an exercise program specific to your requirements, contact us as our exercise physiologists can offer face to face or telehealth consult.
