Bringing the future of cancer care to life.

On 26 August, we welcomed members of YPO Sydney Australia to for a behind-the-scenes tour and an evening of clinical insights and personal stories.

Prof John Moore and Prof Louise Emmett shared advances in cancer treatment and research, while Hannah and Casey Wrigley spoke about their experiences of cancer, the impact of clinical trials and the hope that access to new treatments can bring.

Our sincere thanks to Scott Wencart and Jeremy Byrne for helping bring the evening together, and to our speakers and moderator Adrian Curley, Chairman of PRP Imaging.

The evening highlighted what becomes possible when research, clinical expertise and philanthropy come together to improve care for patients and families.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and supports this work at St Vincent’s.

A friendship inspiring generosity for St Vincent’s.

When Tony Marinceski began treatment for tongue cancer, his friend James Mrmacovski, owner of Shawshank Clothing , found a meaningful way to show his support.

By donating a percentage of clothing sales, James contributed $7,000 to support the team at the John Symond Ambulatory Care Centre at St Vincent's Private Hospital Sydney. The donation has helped purchase two new iPads for the centre.

“We are so grateful to James, Tony and the Shawshank Clothing community for their generosity. Having our community support the work we do means so much to our team as we care for patients and their families.”
— Justin Hussein, Nurse Unit Manager

Thank you, James, and everyone whose purchases helped make this gift possible. Your kindness is a wonderful example of the difference our community can make.

Ten years of care, compassion and community. Thank you, Griffith.

The Griffith community recently came together across two special events to celebrate 10 years of St Vincent’s Private Community Hospital Griffith: a gala dinner organised by the community’s 10th Anniversary Committee, followed by a blessing and lunch hosted at the hospital.

A special thank you to committee members Roy Spagnolo, Joe Casella, Bill Calabria AM and Anne Napoli for bringing the gala to life, and to John Casella for his longstanding support. Your time, energy and dedication reflect the community spirit that helped make this hospital possible.

To our donors and the many individuals, families and local businesses who continue to stand behind St Vincent’s, thank you. We particularly acknowledge the Casella, Spagnolo, Calabria, Camilleri, Gamble and Finemore families, alongside the many supporters whose generosity has helped bring specialist healthcare closer to home.

Thank you to everyone who joined the celebrations, donated, bid at auction or bought raffle tickets. Funds raised through the community gala will support Nursing Excellence, investing in the people who provide exceptional, compassionate care for Griffith and the wider Riverina.

We also thank Gabby Wood and the hospital team, our speakers, clinicians, entertainers and everyone who helped make both occasions so memorable.

We are deeply grateful to be part of a community that gives so generously and cares so deeply. Thank you for celebrating this milestone and helping shape the next chapter.

A team of St Vincent’s heart transplant surgeons and specialists is swapping the hospital corridors for the Bondi to Manly Ultramarathon as the Transplant Striders, raising funds to support heart transplant care and services at St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney .

Every day, this team cares for patients and families facing some of the most challenging moments of their lives. Now they are taking on a challenge of their own to help strengthen the programs and services that support patients through transplantation, recovery and beyond.

We are incredibly grateful to the Transplant Striders, and to all of our community fundraisers who find their own way to support St Vincent’s and help our clinicians continue delivering exceptional care.

Every contribution, large or small, helps make a difference.

Every breakthrough begins with an idea.

Dr Lauren Christie is helping transform stroke rehabilitation through innovative research that could improve recovery and independence for thousands of patients. Like many pioneering projects at St Vincent's, this work was made possible through a grant from the St Vincent's Curran Endowment Fund.

Each year, the Endowment invests in the ideas of our frontline clinicians – supporting research, patient care and innovation that may not otherwise receive funding. By investing today, you're helping create the breakthroughs of tomorrow.

Applications for the 2026 Endowment Grants are now open, with our clinicians putting forward the next generation of ideas that could change lives.

Join us in investing in the future of healthcare.

What if the scan that could save a life wasn't available?

For patients facing cancer, stroke, brain injury and other serious illnesses, advanced medical imaging can mean earlier diagnosis, faster treatment and better outcomes.

For patients like Hugo, it can mean something even more precious: a second chance to watch their children grow up and spend more time with the people they love.

St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney urgently needs your support to upgrade critical imaging technology and ensure clinicians have the tools they need for life-saving decisions.

Please make a gift before 30 June and help fund the technology patients can't afford to wait for - visit https://www.supportstvincents.com.au/about-us/our-stories/help-st-vincents-save-lives-through-advanced-medical-imaging/

There is a moment in every health journey that feels heavier than the rest.

It is not the diagnosis.
It is the waiting.

Waiting for answers.
Waiting for clarity.
Waiting for certainty.

For Australian Army Major Hugo Toovey, that waiting is something he knows too well.

At 21, in peak physical condition during military training, a small lump led to a diagnosis of testicular cancer and the start of treatment he never expected.

Just when life began to stabilise, symptoms returned. More scans. A second diagnosis - bowel cancer.

This time, Hugo acted quickly. And that decision made all the difference.

Now a husband and father, Hugo has spent years moving through treatment and recovery, becoming deeply familiar with the uncertainty between scans, symptoms and answers.

Because in those moments, trust matters.

Trust in the clinicians.
And trust in the imaging that helps them see what the human eye cannot.

At St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney we see this every day.

Medical imaging sits behind almost every diagnosis and treatment decision. It turns uncertainty into clarity and gives people the answers they are waiting for.

As Hugo puts it, “When doctors can see clearly, they can act quickly. And that makes all the difference.”

Today, we are asking for your help to raise $345,000 to upgrade essential fluoroscopy equipment at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney.

Fluoroscopy is live imaging that allows doctors to see inside the body in real time helping detect serious conditions and guide treatment with precision.

Faster answers.
Fewer delays.
Safer care when time matters most.

Because behind every scan is someone waiting for certainty.

With your support, we can give more patients those answers sooner. When it matters most.

Help us reach out target of $345,000 before 30 June - visit https://www.supportstvincents.com.au/about-us/our-stories/help-st-vincents-save-lives-through-advanced-medical-imaging/
