📚Book Week is one of our favourite times of the year – and it’s here again!
Whether you’re flicking through the pictures or gripping your way through a thriller, there’s so much to love about books 💙💚💜
As we celebrate this year’s ‘Symphony of Stories’ theme, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the role books can play in communication, learning and self-expression. Because for AAC communicators, books are often so much more than a source of entertainment.
They can:
📗Kick off conversations
📕Introduce new vocabulary and help develop language
📙Create opportunities to model and practice AAC in fun, engaging ways
📘Strengthen connections with others.
No matter your age or reading level, books can be a valuable part of your AAC journey.
(Plus: who can resist cosying up on the couch with a good page-turner? Not us!)
