The same feeling keeps showing up with different people. Maybe it's your partner, maybe it's your mother or the friend who suddenly went quiet, and part of you is curious about what's actually going on underneath it.

Stop Self-Abandoning in Love is a good place to start looking. It's five short teachings plus a bonus EFT integration practice. Together they show you the exact moment you leave yourself in a relationship and help your body learn to stay. You watch it privately, whenever suits you.

We’ve become experts at diagnosing everyone else’s dysfunction while remaining strangers to our own.

They’re the narcissist. They’re avoidant. They’re toxic. They’re unconscious.

But at what point do we stop investigating everyone else and start investigating ourselves?

I know this pattern because I’ve lived it.

And the deepest transformation in my life began when I stopped asking, “Why are they like this?” and started asking, “What is this revealing about me?”

Where am I abandoning myself?
What patterns am I unconsciously repeating?
What am I tolerating that no longer aligns with who I’m becoming?

This isn’t about blaming yourself for someone else’s harmful behaviour. It’s about recognising that your healing cannot remain dependent on someone else’s awakening.

We can spend a lifetime analysing the people who’ve hurt us and never truly meet ourselves.

And that’s why I believe shadow work is so transformative.

Because awareness without accountability is just another loop.

You can acknowledge what happened to you without allowing it to define who you become.

Stop outsourcing your power.

Come home to yourself. ✨

This is one I wish more women understood in their bodies, not just their minds.

Sometimes holding a boundary creates disappointment.

Sometimes choosing yourself changes a relationship.

Sometimes somebody won’t understand your decision.

Sometimes they’ll think you’re being difficult, selfish, distant or different.

And sometimes you are different.

Because the version of you who kept everybody comfortable at her own expense is no longer running the show.

You don’t have to become cold.

You don’t have to stop caring.

You’re simply learning that their feelings can belong to them without requiring you to abandon yourself.

That’s a very different kind of love.

You can understand your pattern and still find yourself right back inside it.

You can know your attachment style.
Know where the wound came from.
Know you’re activated.
Know you’re holding onto potential.
Know you need a boundary.

And still struggle to choose differently when the moment actually arrives.

Because understanding something intellectually and being able to embody something when your nervous system is activated are two very different things.

The work isn’t only:

Why do I do this?

Eventually it becomes:

What do I do differently when the old pattern shows up?

Can I feel the urge to chase without chasing?

Can I hold the boundary when someone is disappointed?

Can I let somebody show me who they are without filling the gaps with potential?

Can I feel uncertainty without immediately trying to make it disappear?

Can I stay connected to myself even when connection with somebody else feels uncertain?

That’s where the work starts moving from something you know into something you live.

And no, that doesn’t mean you’ll never find yourself in an old loop again.

It means you start recognising it sooner.

You create a little more space.

You make a different choice.

You remember:

I’m in the loop.
And I know the way home. 🤍

One of my favourite parts of From Loop to Love™ happens halfway through.

I sit down one-to-one with each of the women and ask:

What are you noticing?
What’s changing?
What still feels sticky?
What do you need as we move into the second half?

And I’m always struck by the a-ha moments.

Especially from women who have already done a lot of therapy and personal development.

Because sometimes it isn’t that you need more information.

You already understand your childhood.
You know your attachment patterns.
You’ve read the books.
You know you need boundaries.
You can probably explain exactly why you do what you do.

But knowing the pieces individually and suddenly seeing how they all connect inside your relationships are two very different experiences.

This is why I love bringing together psychoeducation, nervous-system awareness, EFT, somatic experiences, boundaries, group support and — importantly — integration.

Because I’m not interested in helping women become brilliant at analysing themselves.

I want the awareness to make its way into real life.

Into the moment you’re triggered.
The conversation where you’d normally abandon yourself.
The boundary you’re frightened to hold.
The relationship where you’re finally able to see reality instead of potential.

That’s when this work starts becoming something you live, rather than something you simply understand.

We’re heading into Week Five now, and watching these women begin to trust themselves differently is pretty bloody special. 🤍

I don’t want you leaving this work simply knowing more about your wounds.
I want you living differently because you understand them.

There are so many ways we leave ourselves that don’t look like self-abandonment at first.

Sometimes they look like being understanding.

Being patient.

Keeping the peace.

Giving them another chance.

Explaining yourself one more time so they finally understand.

Taking responsibility for how somebody else feels.

Or continuing to focus on who somebody could be rather than what the relationship is actually showing you.

And this doesn’t only happen in romantic relationships.

It can happen with your mother.
Your sister.
Your children.
Your friendships.
At work.

Anywhere connection matters to you, there can be a temptation to trade little pieces of yourself to protect it.

And often, we don’t even realise we’re doing it.

So rather than asking:

“Why are they like this?”

Try asking:

“What happens to me when I’m in relationship with them?”

Do I trust what I feel?

Do I say what I mean?

Can I tolerate their disappointment?

Do I honour my no?

Am I still listening to myself?

Because you can have enormous compassion for why somebody is the way they are…

and still decide that you will no longer leave yourself in order to love them.

That’s not becoming cold.

That’s self-loyalty. 🤍

Save this one and come back to it the next time you notice yourself working very hard to keep a connection at your own expense.

Where do I stop being loyal to myself in order to stay connected to them?
