What an incredible forum, bringing together so many passionate people with a shared commitment to inclusion. 💙

It was inspiring to hear different perspectives, share meaningful conversations, and discuss how we can continue breaking down barriers and creating communities where everyone feels valued, supported and included.

Real inclusion happens when we come together, listen, learn and take action. Grateful to have been part of such an important conversation. ✨

✨HILLS I’LL DIE ON✨
Some things in our field aren’t controversial, they’re evidence-based.

💜Sensory supports should be accessible, not earned.
A child shouldn’t have to “behave” before accessing the supports they need to regulate.

💜Stimming isn’t “bad behaviour.”
It’s often a person’s way of regulating their nervous system, processing emotions, communicating, or expressing joy. Our job isn’t to stop it, it’s to understand it.

💜Environments matter.
Instead of asking, “Why are they behaving this way?” let’s also ask: “What in the environment could be contributing?”

When we shift our perspective from compliance to curiosity, we create spaces where people feel safe, understood and supported.

Because regulation comes before learning.

Connection comes before correction.

And understanding changes everything.

Behaviour is communication. 💜

Every behaviour serves a purpose, and when we take the time to understand the “why” behind it, we can provide meaningful support that leads to positive outcomes.

At The Inclusion Centre, our Positive Behaviour Support approach focuses on understanding individual needs, building skills, reducing barriers, and improving quality of life. We work collaboratively with participants, families, schools, and support networks to create practical strategies that promote independence, emotional wellbeing, and inclusion.

By looking beyond the behaviour, we help individuals develop the tools they need to communicate, connect, and thrive.
