It's been a little while! We hope you're doing well.

A couple of updates:

Most importantly, we would love to welcome Matilda Rossie to our practice! Matilda is a gentle, empathic clinician who has such a good understanding of people. She has opened up Thursdays to see clients and is offering face-to-face as well as telehealth.

In other news, Brodie is now offering home visits! This can help if you are time poor, have difficulty mobilising, or prefer to do therapy in the safe space of your own home but also prefer the benefits of a face-to-face appointment. Please get in touch if this sounds like something you'd be interested in to find out more!

With new staff and more availability, we have expanded again, with new rooms. We are still in the same St James Trust Building right near Hyde Park, but offer different spaces depending on your psychologist and your day.

So if you or someone you know has been feeling tired, flat, uninspired, frustrated, unsatisfied, empty, or just can't seem to unwind, we can help.

If you'd like to enquire about more information or to book an appointment, please get in touch with us via email at [email protected], or give us a call on 0450 808 917.

It’s okay if they say “no”, and you don’t know what to say – just listen
It’s okay if they seem like a strong person, everyone has days when they feel weak – ask anyway
It’s okay if you’re not okay – tell someone

Starting the conversation, even If you don’t have all the right words, even if its not something you’d usually talk about, could mean the world to someone. It could save a life. So are you okay?

Obviously I really enjoy hearing about people's lives! And often my clients have questions about me and life as well (understandably!), especially around why I chose to work as a psychologist and what I think of my job.

Here's a little glimpse into that in a discussion I had as an alumnus of one of my old universities:

Clinical psychologist Brodie Earl loves her work seeing clients in her own practice and as part of a hospital team.

We would love to welcome the newest team member of BECP, Theodore! Teddy will be sitting in on some of our therapy sessions, and while we don't currently have the research data to support the effectiveness of miniature dachshund puppies for treating mental disorders, anecdotally he seems to bring a lot of smiles. We hope you love him as much as we do. He's very excited to meet you!

We are still open! We are still taking new referrals!

BECP is providing socially distant services via online and phone consultations.

(We know it's not the same, but it is effective. And it's not forever.)

If you’re feeling unwell, have been in contact with a confirmed case of Covid-19, or have travelled overseas recently, please don’t attend your appointment. Get in touch with us and we will sort something else out (incl. phone or video conferencing). Take care of yourself, take care of others, and if in doubt, wash your hands like you’ve been chopping jalapeños and need to change a contact lens! (And call the Covid-19 helpline 1800 020 080)
