Grit is 50% passion and 50% perseverance.

The first conversation about creating a design-driven wellness space happened in 2020. It’s now 2026, and we’re finally weeks away from opening Sansara

When a project takes six years, you have to really want it. You have to believe in it through the setbacks, delays and moments when the finish line keeps moving.

For me, that belief has also meant being obsessively passionate about the details - how the space looks, feels, sounds, smells, operates, and how every interaction is experienced throughout the club.

I’ve learnt that grit isn’t about feeling motivated every day. It’s caring deeply enough to keep showing up, for as long as it takes.

Passion gave us the idea. Perseverance is bringing it to life.

Six years of grit - made slightly more comfortable by ALO

Sansara • The Lounge

The Lounge was designed to feel less like a traditional workplace and more like a really considered home - somewhere you can settle in, slow down and stay for a while.

It’s a space to get some work done, take a call, catch up with friends, or simply grab a coffee and take a breather between training sessions and meetings.

There are phone booths and a meeting room for when you need a little privacy, a more formal working table when you need to focus, and plenty of softer, more relaxed spaces when the day calls for something a little less structured.

But it’s the details that make it feel special. The warmth, the light, the furniture, the books, the records, the music, the little pockets to sit and work, or mindlessly scroll at the end of a busy day.

I think that’s what I love most about it.

You don’t feel like you’re being moved through a space. You’re given reasons to stay.

This is quickly becoming one of my favourite spaces within Sansara.

Huge thank you to STUDIO DENTRO for their incredible work.

How many things have you talked yourself out of because you were worried about what other people might think?

Starting something. Taking a risk. Doing things differently.

The strange thing is, the people we fear will judge us are often people whose advice we wouldn’t ask for, and whose approval we don’t genuinely seek.

So why give their opinions so much volume?

Not every voice deserves your attention.

Listen to the people who know you, support you and want to see you grow.

The rest is just noise.

In a world that glorifies discomfort, sometimes choosing comfort is exactly what we need.

Practising breathwork. Slipping into a comfortable pair of EVERAU shoes. Coastal walks. Watching the sunrise.

Growth doesn’t always have to feel uncomfortable. Sometimes, it begins when we slow down, breathe deeply and allow ourselves to feel at ease.

I went to a breathwork session today.

It reminded me why I got into this space nearly 10 years ago.

An attempt to quieten my busy mind.

There’s always something going on up there. Something to do. Something to think about. Something I should be working towards. The next idea, the next goal, the next thing.

Often what draws me back to Breathwork is the stillness it creates in my head.

A moment of peace from all the fu***ng noise.

A moment where I don’t need to achieve anything, fix anything or become anything.

I can just be.

We live in a world that celebrates being switched on. Productivity. Ambition. Growth. More. Faster. Better.

And I’m guilty of chasing all of it, too.

But the mind and body need rhythm. They need contrast and balance.

You need the yin to the yang.
The slow to the fast.
The silence to the noise.
The rest to the work.
The being to the doing.

You can’t always be on.

And maybe switching off isn’t time away from your life.

Maybe it’s one of the ways you come back to it.

Today was a nice reminder of that.

I never had a grand plan for where breathwork would take me.

I just found something I believed in, kept learning about it, kept practising it, and kept putting myself in rooms where I could share it.

And somehow, those rooms kept getting bigger.

Last week, that room was Accor Stadium, leading breathwork for 300 JD Sports employees at their company conference.

There are moments when you’re so focused on what’s next that you forget to look at what’s already happened.

This was a reminder to look around.

To appreciate how far something can take you when you care deeply about it and keep showing up for it.

Very grateful for this one.

Huge thanks to The Grey Area and the JD Sports Australia team for introducing breathwork to the business.

Why do you run?

Is it for something?

Or

Is it from something?

Maybe it’s a goal…a time or a distance or a finish line.

Maybe it’s for the feeling of becoming someone you didn’t think you could be.

Or maybe it’s something harder to explain.

To quiet your mind. To escape something you don’t want to feel.

To prove something, to yourself, or to someone else.

To feel in control when other parts of life don’t.

We all have a reason.

Sometimes we know exactly what it is.

Sometimes we tell ourselves it’s one thing, when underneath, it’s something completely different.

We don’t just run.

We run towards things and sometimes, we run away from them.

But eventually, I think the things we’re running from have a way of catching up with us.
