Over the course of your treatment, you will be in the care of our team at Evolution MET. It is helpful to build trust with your therapist but some people may find that they feel more comfortable if they bring a support person to the first session. You will need someone to drive you home after dosing days and stay with you overnight. The program can be an intense experience and the need for support when you return home, while you are completing the program is important and will be discussed with you.

✨MEET CLAIRE ✨

Claire Gomez has been a registered nurse since 2003, bringing over 20 years of diverse nursing experience including nursing unit management of wards specialising in addictions, trauma, mood disorders and psychogeriatric care.

She has also worked as a clinician in the Homelessness sector as well as prior experience in intensive care units both in Australia and in the U.K.

Claire is a trained Family and Systemic Facilitator, having presented at international conferences held in New Zealand and Australia.

She has also been instrumental in refugee advocacy, including working as production coordinator for the documentary ‘Freedom is Beautiful’ which won Best Australian Documentary in the 2023 Melbourne Film Festival amongst other awards.

Claire is passionate about supporting patients and families in receiving the best possible care available and brings her compassion, integrity, professionalism and warmth to all that she does.

✨ MEET AARON ✨

Aaron Skilton is a psychologist and clinical psychology registrar who joins the Evolution MET team as a research coordinator.

Aaron has therapeutic experience across the lifespan and has worked or interned at the Centre for Emotional Health, St Vincent’s Hospital, Westmead Children’s Hospital, and the Sydney University Clinic. He currently works part-time as a psychologist at Northern Beaches Hospital.

Aaron is committed to staying abreast of, and contributing to, research developments in mental health treatment. As research coordinator, Aaron ensures all study requirements and responsibilities are effectively communicated and executed.

As part of the ongoing commitment to ensure that the therapy provided at EvolutionMET is of the highest quality, some of our team had a wonderful week learning about Innate Somatic Intelligence Trauma Therapy Approach ( ISITTS) with the founder of the ISITTA model and renowned US Hakomi trainer Manuela Mischke Reeds. Somatic work is a core part of psychedelic therapy and the model has a great deal to offer to support the work with clients.

✨Evolution MET is the only medicine enhanced therapy service in Australia to be located at a high performing, major Tier 5, private and public teaching and research driven hospital. The Northern Beaches Hospital hosts the largest Multidisciplinary Public Private Adult Mental Health Service North of Sydney Harbour.

The Evolution MET Team - under the direction of Associate Professor Gunewardene - are involved in research programs, in collaboration with leading researchers at Macquarie University and the esteemed Professor David Castle, to continually refine our program and to contribute to the body of knowledge in the field.
