Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation Together, we can change the future for sick kids. We truly believe there is no greater possible impact for a donated dollar in kids’ health.
(662)

One of the largest and most trusted kids’ health charities in the country, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation exists to help provide all children with access to the best possible healthcare, whenever and wherever they need it. We have been delivering on this promise since 1986, raising millions every year for Sydney Children's Hospitals Network - including Sydney's two children’s hospitals at Randwick and Westmead, specialised care services, and cutting edge paediatric research, operating across NSW. A conduit, an enabler, and a mechanism for powerful change, we make sure funds raised go directly to the front line of children’s healthcare – from the hospital wards to the treatment rooms, the research labs to the outreach programs.

This Saturday, 17 October, Airleigh’s uncle Aaron will take on an incredible challenge, running 100km around the Nepean River over 16 laps to raise funds for Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation. 💙

Diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as a newborn, Airleigh has already experienced several hospital admissions and procedures, with daily treatments and ongoing care from the team at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

After a recent hospital stay for IV treatment and procedures to help with her feeding, Airleigh is now thriving, bringing plenty of cheeky personality to everyday life.

Having seen firsthand the care Airleigh has received, Aaron is taking on this 100km challenge to help make a difference for other sick kids and their families.

A hospital stay can be frightening for a child, but the right support can help them feel more confident and more in control.

Child life therapy helps children make sense of their healthcare experiences through therapeutic play, creative activities, preparation and technology. From helping a child understand an upcoming procedure to using gaming and virtual reality to ease anxiety, child life therapists find ways to support each child at their stage of development.

This care extends to families, too, helping parents and siblings navigate the emotional challenges that can come with a child’s illness.

With the support of our donors, we can help more children and families receive the care they need throughout their hospital journey. 🧡

This November, five members of the Rio’s Legacy team will take on the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon, raising funds that will support the wraparound care and family support programs at Mounties Care Cottage, Western Sydney’s first dedicated children’s hospice.

Supported by Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation, Mounties Care Cottage will provide a home away from home for children with life-limiting conditions and their families, offering comfort, care and connection when they need it most.

Through this campaign, Rio’s Legacy is helping create a place where families can feel supported and no one has to walk this journey alone.

Support the team and help provide care and comfort for families when they need it most. 🧡

This World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded of how important it is for children and young people to receive the right support.

At OCD BOUNCE, a multidisciplinary team works with children experiencing OCD and related disorders, helping them manage their symptoms and reduce the impact on family life, school and everyday activities.

The clinic was established through SCHF donor investment in 2023, helping to bridge the gap in specialist community-based care. With the right treatment, OCD is highly treatable, and around two thirds of people can achieve remission with high-quality care.

Your support helps make specialised mental health care possible for children and families across the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network.

The future of children’s healthcare depends on the people who will lead it.

Through the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network Clinical Fellowship Program, exceptional doctors receive advanced training and hands-on experience to develop as paediatric specialists, researchers and clinical leaders.

The impact of one fellowship can extend far beyond the individual doctor. A fellow can be involved in the care of up to 5,000 children in a single year, while also teaching and mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals and contributing to research that can improve care for children in the future.

Philanthropic support helps provide these opportunities, strengthening the paediatric workforce and building the expertise that children and families will rely on for years to come.

Support from Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation donors is helping shape the next generation of paediatric care.

Last week, we unveiled the Bodman Cancer Centre for Children at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, named in honour of Kids with Cancer Foundation founder Peter Bodman.

For more than 25 years, Kids with Cancer Foundation and Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation have worked together to support better cancer care for children and families across the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network.

The unveiling was an opportunity to recognise the people, partnership and shared commitment behind this work, and to look ahead to the difference it will continue to make for children and families.

We’re grateful to everyone at Kids with Cancer Foundation for standing alongside us and helping progress children’s cancer care.

Until the end of November, Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, is home to the final rotation of our 2026 Art Program.

On Ground Level, A Little Piece of Me celebrates the many influences that shape the identities of children and adolescents supported by Paediatric Palliative Care teams across Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, John Hunter Children’s Hospital and Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice.

Also on Ground Level, Precious Memories by Hyun Hee Lee presents colourful abstract paintings inspired by the artist’s own stories and experiences. The works invite each viewer to find their own meaning in the shapes, colours and forms.

On Level 2, Tilganga Eye Centre by Luis Winoto features black-and-white film photographs from a mobile vision-screening program in the Kathmandu Valley. The photographs offer a glimpse into the people and places involved in delivering eye care across the communities.

Also on Level 2, Silhouettes in Lace by Isa Hargrave brings the intricate craft of bobbin lace into the hospital environment. Some of the pieces were created specifically for the exhibition and draw inspiration from the hospital experience, inviting curiosity and imagination.

Together, these exhibitions show the different ways art can create moments of connection, reflection and warmth within a hospital setting, supporting whole-person health alongside clinical care.

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we’re incredibly proud to celebrate a partnership that has been making a difference for kids with cancer and their families for nearly three decades.

Today, we unveiled the Bodman Cancer Centre for Children at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, made possible with generous funding from Kids With Cancer Foundation Australia and named in recognition of Kids with Cancer Foundation founder, Peter Bodman.

Since 1998, our organisations have shared a commitment to improving research, treatment and care for children with cancer, and today marks a very special chapter in that journey.

Kids with Cancer Foundation’s $10 million commitment is helping bring the new Level 10 and 11 oncology inpatient and day units at Westmead to life – purpose-built spaces designed to support the changing landscape of childhood cancer care and help ensure children and families can access the best possible care, now and into the future.

We’re incredibly proud of what this partnership has achieved and to continue working together to improve care and outcomes for children with cancer and their families.

To everyone at Kids with Cancer Foundation, and every donor and supporter who has been part of this journey – thank you for the extraordinary difference you continue to make.
