NeuroCog Clinic

NeuroCog Clinic NeuroCog combines psychology and neuroscience to deliver brain-based care for individuals, families, and organisations, including NDIS participants.

Our team provides evidence-based psychotherapy, neuropsychological assessments, and practical skills training to support emotional regulation, resilience, and day-to-day functioning. We offer NDIS psychology services and support coordinators, families, and participants with clear goals and measurable progress. Sessions are available in person in Manly and via secure telehealth across Australia. We

support concerns including anxiety, mood, stress, trauma, ADHD, learning difficulties, neurodevelopmental needs, and workplace challenges. Alongside our clinic services, we develop digital tools like the Neury app and PsychFlow for clinicians, helping bring structured, neuroscience-informed programs into everyday life and practice.

What if we stopped asking "What's wrong" and started asking what is possible?

Assessments can help clarify how a child thinks, learns, regulates and responds to the world around them. At NeuroCog® Clinic, that understanding is used as a starting point for skill development, not as a fixed definition of the child.

The NeuroCog® System looks at the patterns behind behaviour, including attention, regulation, flexibility, executive functioning, motivation and routines.

From there, NeuroCog® Training turns assessment insight into practical skill building. Families are supported to understand what is happening, apply structured strategies in everyday life and track progress over time.

This approach helps move support beyond labels and into measurable development. The focus is on building the skills that help children participate, adapt and grow in ways that are visible in daily life.

Attention is not one simple skill.

It draws on several brain networks that support alertness, focus, filtering, shifting and cognitive control. These systems develop over time, which is why attention can look different from child to child.

For children with ADHD, attention challenges are not a matter of effort or attitude. Research has identified differences in brain structure and activation patterns associated with ADHD, including areas involved in attention and executive functioning.

At NeuroCog® Clinic, we look beyond the label to understand how attention is showing up in daily life. This may include sustaining focus, filtering distractions, shifting between tasks, managing routines or returning to a task after interruption.

NeuroCog® Training supports practical skill development by helping individuals and families understand these patterns, apply structured strategies and track measurable progress over time.

Neuroscience shows something fundamental: the brain does not simply record reality - it actively constructs it.

Attention, memory, emotion, and expectation continuously shape how we perceive and respond to the world. What feels immediate and certain is often a filtered, interpreted version of reality - organised by the brain to support prediction, efficiency, and action.

Understanding this changes how we relate to our own experience. It allows us to approach thoughts, reactions, and perceptions with greater clarity, flexibility, and control.

We believe that personal development should make a tangible difference, helping you gain deeper self-understand and master new skills to enhance your daily life.

That’s why we help you map your your progress using objective physiological and behavioural data such as:
📝 Daily check-ins and reflections from the Neury® app
📊 Periodic reviews using standardised tools such as the K10 and DASS
⚡ EEGs to visualize your unique brainwave activity.

These markers often prove encouraging, helping you see how you’ve learned to respond differently in a range of situations. It takes a bit more work from you (and from us!) but we believe your growth is worth the effort.

Repeating positive affirmations like, “I am enough” is meant to help you develop a more positive outlook on life. But these surface-level statements don’t necessarily shift your deeper feelings. They can sound hollow and disconnected from what life is really like for you.

That’s because you are far more than your thoughts. You have a complex nervous system along with deep and varied emotions. Your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are all interconnected. 🧠✨

A diagnosis of autism, ADHD or another condition can provide greater understanding and access to support.

But your child needs more than that. At NeuroCog® Clinic, diagnosis is not the end point. It is one part of a broader process that looks beyond labels and focuses on practical growth.

We explore how your child thinks, regulates, learns and responds to the world around them. Then we build on their strengths and train their skills, helping to make life easier at home and at school. 🏡🎒

A child’s brain is formed through neurodevelopment: a dynamic process influenced by genetics, biology, relationships, environment, and lived experience. Neuroplasticity is the brain’s capacity to adapt within that process, supporting learning, resilience, and growth over time.

Structured cognitive training can help your child develop executive functioning skills such as:
👀 Attention
💛 Emotional regulation
🧩 Problem solving
🔄 Cognitive flexibility

These skills can make daily life run more smoothly, helping to aid focus, and adapt to change.
