We are so proud to celebrate an incredible milestone - 25 years of service for Racheal Dahiya.

Racheal’s journey with Whiddon has seen her care for residents across a number of our homes, with the most recent being Taylor House, where she has been for the past two years.

At Taylor House, Rachel has formed a special bond with her resident buddy, Enrique. They enjoy chatting about their families and sharing stories, creating a connection that reflects the heart of what we do.

Racheal says her favourite part of working at Whiddon is being around people and making a difference in their lives through care.

She also values the support she feels from those around her - something we know is important to our team members across all our homes.

We are very proud to have team members like Racheal who choose to stay and grow with us over many years. Thank you, Racheal, for your commitment and the impact you continue to make. 💚

Our honourary Mallam Sous Chefs at Whiddon Easton Park - Easton Park Units have been busy again filling the home with some delicious aromas while baking banana, apple and cinnamon muffins 🍌🍎

Each resident played their part, from mixing and measuring to taste‑testing. Cooking activities like this are such a meaningful way to support residents living with dementia. They encourage connection, spark memories, and give everyone a chance to contribute in a way that feels familiar and rewarding.

Relationship-based care comes in many forms - and we see it every day at our Whiddon Maclean Mareeba home.

From folding washing, cuppas in the sun and fresh air, and cognitive games, to personalised support like tape peeling - each moment is shaped around the individual.

Connection also means supporting what matters most. Sharon helps her buddy Stewart continue working on his handmade speakers and attend the Men’s Shed, where he says he can “feel like myself again”. And with a little support, Barbara returned to Bingo, enjoying being back out and even winning a couple of games!

It’s these everyday moments and meaningful connections that bring relationship-based care to life.

We're so proud to care for such a wonderful woman.

We sat with one of our wonderful Home Care Coordinators, Michelle to share our More to Me video.

As someone who often speaks and meets with older Australians, listening to Holly's story was heartwarming for her.

If you see age, you miss the person.

🎉 Celebrating a very special milestone at our Whiddon Belmont home 🎉

Our lovely resident Val recently marked her 90th birthday, surrounded by her loved ones. Having called Whiddon Belmont home for the past seven months, Val is a cherished member of our community. She is always content, cheerful, and known for her warm smile and kind manners toward fellow residents and our team members.

Val enjoys a little pampering with beauty care, listening to music and watching live concerts, all of which bring plenty of happiness and laughter to her days. Most of all, she loves spending precious time with her family.

Happy 90th birthday, Val 💛 Thank you for brightening our Belmont home every day.

We recently approached locals to show them snippets from our More to Me campaign videos.

We showed Bill's video to Beth to understand her perception of the elderly in Australia.

If you see age, you miss the person.

Last month, our Whiddon Easton Park Taylor House and Sir David Martin Homes celebrated Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea - creating a meaningful space for residents to connect, share personal stories and support the Cancer Council. 🌼

Across the day, there were moments of reflection alongside light-hearted fun, with interactive activities and a few magical touches bringing smiles to everyone involved. Residents enjoyed a classic morning tea spread and time together over a cuppa, with plenty of conversation and laughter along the way.

A big thank you to our residents and team members for their generosity and for helping make the day so special – every contribution makes a difference.

When we sat with resident, Laura, she openly shared how she has been treated on occasion due to her grey hair and age.

If you see age, you miss the person.
