The best tool for language development is YOU!

People games are the best therapy toy you can have. They’re powerful opportunities for language learning, encourage social interaction, and best of all, they’re free!

By using the same key words and phrases consistently during games we help children build understanding, make connections, and develop confidence in their communication. Repetition within meaningful, engaging interactions is one of the best ways to support language growth.

Try these words and phrases as you play: Ready…set…Go! My turn/Your turn. Closer…closer…closer…tickle! Let’s do it again!
And don’t forget to use action songs like ‘Wheels on the bus’, ‘Ring-a-ring-a-rosie’, or ‘Row row row your boat’!

Save this for your next therapy session or home practice and don't forget to follow along for more.

Every now and then, something happens that makes you stop and reflect.

As clinicians, we spend our days supporting children and their families, often without ever realising just how much those moments mean to them.

Recently, one of our clients had the opportunity to meet and proudly told him about Sensia and asked if he would give our team a shoutout.

To be honest, that hit us right in the heart.

Not just because an NRL player mentioned our clinic, but because one of our clients was proud enough of their journey to want to share it with someone they look up to - there really is no greater compliment.

To our incredible team, thank you. The care, patience and encouragement you show every day leaves a lasting impression, even when you don’t always get to see it.

This moment is a reminder that what we do is about so much more than therapy. From our reception team, therapists and staff behind the scenes, it's about building relationships, creating trust, and giving children a place where they feel supported, understood and proud to belong.

And to , thank you for taking a moment out of your day to make one of our clients, and our entire team smile.

Let's go BULLDOGS 💙 🤍 💙 🤍

Regulation is not a quick shift. It happens gradually through meaningful, structured sensory input that bridge the body to higher-level cognitive functions such as attention, thinking, learning, and engagement.

A simple 3- step regulation recipe for kids who need extra support for focus and attention:

1. Dynamic heavy work: Activities that involve pushing, pulling, carrying, climbing, or jumping provide strong proprioceptive input. Movements need to be effortful.

2. Static heavy work: Holding static positions that are still effortful but less chaos. Think about wall sits and plank holds. This is where the shift happens

3. Balance and rhythm: Activities that incorporate balance and sensory input while requiring the brain to sustain focus. These experiences help integrate the sensory systems with higher-level cognitive functions, supporting a gradual shift towards improved attention, engagement, and regulation.
