It's Mental Health Week so we thought we'd recommend the Top
5 things you can do TONIGHT to start feeling happier, healthier and have more control over your thoughts and feelings.
1. Download Headspace - Meditation App designed to really get you regularly practicing proper meditation. It's free and you get a 10 day guided course that helps you learn the practice of meditation. The founder is an ex-monk who is your personal meditation teacher. I can't recommend it enough! It was recommended by a close friend and really helped me through some tough times.
2. Download Sleep Cycle- Improving your sleep is so beneficial to every aspect of your life. Sleep cycle tracks your sleep patterns and wakes you up calmly and in the least deep part of your sleep. It will make a huge difference to people who suffer with insomnia and issues waking up in the morning.
3. Set an automatic email from yourself to send each night at your usual bedtime. Using Gmail and Boomerang is the best option. Create a Google Form with questions such as asking yourself about what you are grateful for in the day, how you were feeling, what you ate etc. Tracking your progress is essential and I can't understate the power this simple email form will do to helping you achieve your goals and increasing your self awareness. This tip was from the incredibly talented boys at Primal Sydney and Alchemy. ***If you want help with this please just email me at [email protected]
4. Eat real food. It's not hard, it's incredibly simple. Just start feeding yourself with nourishing fruits and vegetables. If you want to see PROGRESS from this then add in questions to your Google form (See 3.) about your diet during the day (If it was healthy or unhealthy) then about your mood and energy levels. You will start to see a correlation between good nutrition and better energy levels and mood. Mick Fanning noted this in his book Surf For Your Life
