About 1 in 15 women in Australia experience premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) or early menopause.

Early menopause happens before age 45. POI happens before age 40. The physical symptoms are similar to menopause at the usual age, but there can be a deeper sense of loss tied to fertility and body image.

If this sounds like your experience, you're not alone.

It's a common assumption, but symptoms don't always end when your periods do. Symptoms can continue for years into postmenopause.

Our support doesn't have an expiry date.

"You're too young for this." It's what a lot of women are told when symptoms start early.

Perimenopause usually starts in your 40s, but can start earlier or later.

It's a transition, not a single birthday. Wherever you are in the journey, our clinical team is here to help.

They warned you about hot flushes. No one mentioned your heart. ❤️

As estrogen falls, so does some of the protection it gives your heart and blood vessels, which is part of why cardiovascular risk changes during menopause.

This National Stroke Week (3–9 August), know the signs:
Face - has their mouth drooped?
Arms - can they lift both arms?
Speech - is it slurred? Do they understand you?
Time is critical - call 000 straight away.

Your heart is part of your menopause care. Tag someone who should know this.

That mid-afternoon crash. The cravings that come from nowhere. Mood that dips for no clear reason.

During menopause, hormonal changes affect how the body regulates blood sugar and those dips can feel completely disproportionate to what you've eaten.
The good news: small, consistent habits make a real difference.

Not many people talk about what menopause does to skin — but it's real. Women can lose up to 30% of their collagen in the five years after menopause, and our own research found nearly half of Australian women notice these changes.

We've teamed up with Ella Baché, who've spent 70+ years focused on skincare, to bring some genuinely useful guidance to this side of the menopause journey.

1 in 4 women aged 45–64 say menopause symptoms make their daily activities harder.
That's not a minor inconvenience. That's affecting work, relationships, sleep, and physical function for a significant proportion of Australian women, often in silence, and often without adequate clinical support.

Emsee exists to change that.

💾 Save this and share it with someone who needs it. 📲 Don't wait years for answers. Book a bulk-billed consultation today.
