This National Stroke Week, take a moment to learn the F.A.S.T. signs of stroke. Recognising the symptoms and acting quickly could help save a life or reduce the long-term effects of a stroke.

If you notice sudden changes to someone's Face, Arms or Speech, it's Time to call 000. Don't wait for the symptoms to pass.

🎄❤️ Christmas in July 2026 ❤️🎄

What a truly special day we had celebrating Christmas in July with our wonderful clients.

It was so lovely to also have some of our amazing caregivers join us along with CEO Matt Oliver, General Manager Jo Hegney and People Experience Manager Rose Harney.

This was our biggest turnout yet and what a fantastic day it was. There was plenty of delicious food, lots of lollies, plenty of laughs and some very excited winners of our lucky door prizes. 🎁🎉

Our Winter Warmer hampers were so well received and it was an absolute pleasure giving them away thanks to Matt for drawing out the winners from the Santa hat 🎅Congratulations to Beth, Barbara, and Ellen.

These are the days we love the most bringing everyone together and creating a warm, welcoming and fun environment where our clients can enjoy great company and lots of laughter.

A huge thank you to Dee Why RSL for looking after us so brilliantly. Your hospitality was exceptional and you helped make our day so special.

We can't wait to do it all again for the big Christmas celebration in December 🎅🎄❤️

What a truly wonderful day Jen and I had celebrating Christmas in July with The Village Chef. 🎄❤️

A heartfelt thank you to the entire Village Chef team for creating such a fantastic day. It was so special to see volunteers, board members, Matt Cross MP for Davidson, community groups, local businesses and so many familiar faces all coming together to celebrate the true meaning of community.

Days like today remind us why we love what we do. There is something incredibly rewarding about giving back, building connections and showing kindness and support to the people who need it most. Seeing everyone come together with such generosity, friendship, and compassion is what community spirit is all about.

Jen and I were truly honored to judge best dressed, it was a very difficult job when everyone made such an effort and made the room sparkle ❤️

A very special thank you to everyone at The Village Chef. Your passion, dedication, and care for the community are truly inspiring. The difference you make in so many people's lives is remarkable, and we are so grateful to be able to share in days like this.

On Monday 27 July at 2:00pm AEST, almost every mobile phone in Australia will receive a test emergency alert as part of the rollout of Australia's new AusAlert system.

The alert will display on your screen and play a loud siren, even if your phone is on silent or Do Not Disturb. While it may be surprising, it's only a test and no action is required.

If you have an older loved one, neighbour or friend who may be concerned by the alert, consider giving them a quick heads-up beforehand. A simple conversation can provide reassurance and help everyone feel more prepared.
