Shoulder Pain? It Could Be a Rotator Cuff Injury

Shoulder pain can make simple everyday tasks difficult, reaching overhead, lifting weights at the gym, sleeping on your side, or even putting on a shirt. One of the most common causes of shoulder pain is a rotator cuff injury.

Behind every “sad skeleton” is

• Stiff joints
• Tight muscles
• Overworked nervous system

Osteopathy isn’t just about bones, it’s about helping the whole body function better.

“The foot bone’s connected to the head bone!”

Turns out… it kind of is.

Your body is one connected system.
Ankle stiffness can influence knees.
Hips can affect your back.
Neck tension can trigger headaches.

Osteopathy is treating the whole body, not just the sore spot.

Your vertebrae are NOT “out of place”

A common belief is that back pain happens because a bone has “slipped” or is “out of alignment”.

The reality, vertebrae are held very securely by strong ligaments, muscles and joint capsules. If they truly moved out of place, it would be a medical emergency.

So why do you have back pain?

Back pain is usually due to a combination of:

Joint stiffness or irritation
Muscle tension or fatigue
Nervous system sensitivity
Reduced movement or load tolerance
Stress and poor recovery

Not because bones are dislocated.

What osteopathy actually treats

Osteopaths focus on:
✔ Restoring normal movement
✔ Reducing pain and muscle tension
✔ Improving strength and confidence in movement
✔ Helping your nervous system calm down

We don’t “put bones back in” — we help your body move, adapt, and recover better.

Ocular Migraine: What is it & how can Osteopathy help?

Ocular migraines cause temporary visual disturbances such as:
• flashing lights
• zig-zag lines
• blind spots
• blurred vision

Often triggered by stress, poor sleep, screen strain, dehydration and neck tension.

How osteopathy may help:
Osteopathic treatment focuses on:
✔️ neck and upper back mobility
✔️ reducing muscle tension
✔️ improving posture and breathing patterns
✔️ supporting nervous system regulation

This approach aims to reduce common triggers that contribute to migraine frequency and severity.
