From 1 July 2026, NDIS Short Term Accommodation (STA) is priced differently.

Instead of accommodation and disability-related support being charged as one bundled rate, they are now priced separately.

What can be claimed depends on factors such as the type of accommodation, hours of support, when support is provided and where you live.

If you use STA or are considering it, it’s worth understanding how these changes may apply to your NDIS Plan.

Has something changed in your life or support needs? ❤️

If your circumstances have changed significantly and on an ongoing basis, you may be able to request an NDIS plan reassessment.

Changes could include your functional capacity, living arrangements, work or education, or the support you receive from family and other people. Simply running out of funding isn’t enough on its own, you’ll need to show that your current plan no longer meets your needs.

You’ll also need recent evidence to support your request. If you’re unsure whether a reassessment or plan variation is right for you, speak with your support coordinator, recovery coach or NDIS contact.

Your Consumables budget may cover everyday disability-related items as well as some low-cost assistive technology, provided they meet the NDIS funding criteria.

If you're ever unsure whether something can be claimed, it's always a good idea to check before purchasing or speak with your plan manager or support coordinator.

💡Understanding your plan helps you get the most from your funding.

Our office team recently completed their professional development - a four-part series under the title - Business Beyond Borders - Leading Across Cultures workshop.

The sessions explored cultural awareness, communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and understanding different working styles. These valuable insights will help us continue building an inclusive workplace and provide the best possible support to our team and the people we serve. ❤️

The workshop was funded by the Cumberland Council and endorsed by the Greater Cumberland Chamber of Commerce. Big shoutout to them for making it happen.
