Have you heard of FIFO?

We don’t mean the work roster – we’re talking about a simple way to organise food and meals in your fridge. FIFO stands for “First In, First Out.”

When unpacking new groceries or Meals on Wheels deliveries, take a quick look at what is already in the fridge and place the newer items behind the older ones.

This helps make sure foods with the closest use-by dates are eaten first.

It’s also a good idea to regularly check use-by dates on meals stored in the fridge or freezer. If needed, discuss it with your Meals on Wheels service when placing your next order.
