FRONTIER's 2026 Carer Information Day

This year join us on Wednesday 30th September from 9AM - 2:45PM (AEST) to hear updates on some of the latest findings from FRONTIER’s research in FTD and from Dementia Support Australia.

The Information Day will be held at the University of Sydney’s Brain and Mind Centre on Mallet Street, Camperdown. There is no charge for in-person or online attendance. However, a limited number of in-person tickets are available and these are bookable until Sunday 27th September, 5pm. Online tickets can be booked up to the day of the event.

How can we improve health equity in dementia care? 💡

Informal carers play a vital role in our communities, yet they often face unique hurdles in navigating healthcare systems. For people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, accessing culturally tailored support can be a challenge 🤝

To bridge this gap, our new research study is exploring the unique experiences and resource needs of Chinese and Australian carers 🗣️ 🌏

After sharing a simple Facebook post about her husband David's frontotemporal dementia, Vickie was overwhelmed by the kindness and support she received from her community. What started as an effort to help others understand dementia turned into a powerful reminder that compassion still exists everywhere around us.

From strangers taking the time to chat with David, to people offering to bring their dogs for him to meet, the response showed how small acts of kindness can bring moments of joy, dignity and connection to someone living with dementia.

It's a beautiful story about community, empathy, and seeing the person behind the diagnosis.
