A little milestone to celebrate today! 🎉

Today I completed my SAFM (school of Applied Functional Medicine) Level 1 Exam.

As a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I’m passionate about continually expanding my knowledge so I can better support my clients in achieving lasting health outcomes. This course has deepened my understanding of functional assessment and the interconnected systems of the body, providing even more tools to help uncover the root causes of health concerns.

Today is World Diabetes Day, a reminder that blood-sugar balance is foundational for metabolic, hormonal, and overall health.
Chronic high blood glucose affects energy, mood, weight, inflammation, cardiovascular health, and hormone regulation.

Simple habits that improve insulin sensitivity:
• Eat balanced meals: protein + fibre + healthy fats
• Build strength — muscle improves insulin sensitivity
• Reduce sugar + ultra-processed foods
• Support gut health (fibre, veggies, hydration)
• Manage stress (it raises cortisol → raises glucose)
• Prioritise quality sleep

Helpful blood tests: HbA1c, fasting glucose, fasting insulin, triglycerides, liver enzymes.
