Australian Psychoanalytical Society Inc. The Australian Psychoanalytical Society Inc (APAS) is a component society of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA).

Together we are here to raise the profile of psychoanalysis and set the standards for practitioners. The Australian Psychoanalytical Society (APAS) is a component society of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA), an organisation of over 10,000 members worldwide, which is involved in training, research, and maintenance of standards for psychoanalytic practice. We have branches in Ade

laide, Melbourne and Sydney. The Society is dedicated to psychoanalytic treatment and training, to the development of psychoanalytic thinking and to the communication of these ideas to the public. Members work in private practice, in hospitals and universities and other institutional settings. They also undertake teaching and supervision of the clinical work of psychotherapists and other mental health practitioners.
