This is what complex trauma can look like.

A smile on my face
Tears streaming down my face
Not being able to regulate my emotions or my nervous system to the point of squeezing my arm so tightly it leaves a mark.
Sometimes the only way out of my trapped rage and spiral in my brain is to hit myself.
Then more smiles on my face and loving life
Then the next hating myself and wrecking everything.
Then the bruises appear where I let it out. Then I feel ashamed and embarrassed.

I didn’t want to share this but thought maybe I should. It might help someone struggling with complex mental health issues and feel less alone.

Life is fu***ng hard sometimes. And sometimes life is easy and good.

Thankfully I have a good support team behind me at the moment. In the past I didn’t have the support and struggled alone.

If you are struggling reach out. Reach out to anyone. Even to me. When someone close asks if you are OK don’t wear a mask and say you are when you really are not. You may be surprised who is out there willing to hold your hand during the bad and ugly times.

Join us for an inspiring afternoon featuring six incredible local women who will share their personal journeys through the different stages of life, balancing families and careers, and prioritising their health and wellbeing.

Our panellists will speak openly about their wins, challenges and lessons learned—and remind us why taking care of ourselves matters. 💕

Kelli from Prime Pelvic Health will deliver an informative presentation about women’s pelvic health and the changes we may experience throughout life.

Nycol from Kaleid-O-Scope Knowing Our Spirit will guide us through a calming mindfulness session, helping us slow down, reconnect and focus on the present moment. 🧘‍♀️

There will also be plenty of time to connect with other women, enjoy a delicious afternoon tea and take home one of our amazing goodie bags filled with helpful information and generous gifts donated by local businesses! 🎁
