- Eat slower, smaller meals
- Chew thoroughly
- Avoid trigger foods—common ones include coffee, spices, and acidic fruits
- Skip fried and fatty foods—they can cause heartburn
- No late night eating—avoid lying down after meals
- Limit alcohol and smoking—supports digestion
