To have the work of such a talented local artist in my clinic is incredibly special, and even more so knowing she is the artist behind the Newcastle Knights NRL Indigenous Round design. What an amazing achievement and a testament to her talent, creativity and passion.

💙 A Family Update 💙

Today was a bittersweet day for our family.

After many months of fighting, Dad has finished chemotherapy.

Unfortunately, because of the repeated infections, bile duct blockages and frequent hospital admissions, he hasn’t been able to receive enough chemotherapy treatments for it to have the effect everyone had hoped for. Together with his medical team, the decision has now been made to move forward with radiation therapy as the next step in his treatment.

While it’s difficult to close the door on one chapter, we’re choosing to focus on the hope that this next treatment may bring.

Dad also needed more blood transfusions today and will require more again on Tuesday. His body has been through so much, yet he continues to face each day with incredible strength, courage and that cheeky sense of humour we all love.

Through it all, your kindness has carried us.

💙 A Family Update 💙

It’s been another big week for Dad.

Yesterday, he received another blood transfusion and was able to have his chemotherapy treatment. We’re so grateful he was well enough to receive it.

The next step is on Tuesday, when he’ll have his planning scans for radiation therapy. If everything goes to plan, he’ll pause chemotherapy while he undergoes radiation, and we’re all hoping this treatment will make a real difference.

As always, we’re taking things one day at a time, celebrating every little win and staying hopeful for what’s ahead.

We continue to be overwhelmed by the love, support and kindness shown to our family. Every donation, share, message and prayer reminds us that we’re not walking this journey alone.

💙 A Family Update 💙

It’s been a rollercoaster over the past week, but today we finally have some positive news to share.

Dad is now back home. 💙

After being rushed back into hospital, he underwent surgery on Wednesday to relieve another blockage in his bile duct. The doctors were really pleased with how the procedure went, and we’re so thankful everything went smoothly.

During his hospital stay, Dad also needed another 3 units of blood, and unfortunately had to miss another round of chemotherapy while his body focused on recovering.

The next step is meeting with the specialist to discuss radiation therapy, and we’re keeping everything crossed that it will be another positive step forward in Dad’s treatment.

Through it all, Dad continues to amaze us with his strength, resilience and, of course, his cheeky sense of humour. ❤️

💙 A Family Update 💙

Today has been another difficult day for our family.

We had to rush Dad back to hospital, where we’ve learned he needs more blood, has another infection, and there’s another blockage in his bile duct. He’ll now need another procedure to help relieve the blockage.

This journey continues to remind us how quickly things can change and how important it is to take each day as it comes.

Through it all, Dad continues to amaze us with his strength, courage… and yes, he’s still managing to find moments to be his cheeky self. ❤️

Twelve days down… and I’m still going strong. 💪💙

It’s hard to believe we’re already nearly halfway through the 28 Days. 7 Minutes. One Purpose. challenge.

Every day I’m reminded why I started this journey, and every day I’m overwhelmed by the incredible support you’ve shown our family.

Since Thursday, Dad has had another round of chemotherapy along with two units of blood. It’s been a tough few days, and he hasn’t been feeling the best. But despite everything, he’s still managing to be his cheeky self, and that’s the Dad we all know and love.

A few weeks ago, I stepped well outside my comfort zone and started this fundraiser for my dad.

If you know me, you’ll know I’m much more comfortable helping others than asking for help myself.
