TMC will be closing 🔐 the practice again this year to give all of our staff a well-deserved break! ❣️

The practice will close at 5pm on Thursday 24th December 2026🎄 and reopen on Monday 4th January 2027 at 8:30am. 🥳

Now we know it’s only September 🌸🌼🌿🌷💐but we wanted to get the notice out as soon as possible so patients can book in their appointments for the rest of 2026, EARLY‼️

Our Doctors also have planned leave between now and the New Year. We want to notify everyone when each doctor will be on leave so they can book their appointments accordingly, before the practice closes over the Christmas/New Year Period.

Dr Armi 🌸will be off for the following leave periods:
15th September 2026 - 23 September 2026 & 15th October 2026 - 27th October 2026.

Dr Tracy 🌷will be off for the following periods:
Friday 18th September & Friday 1st January 2027- Thursday 14th 2027.

Dr Nicole 🌼will be off for the following periods:
Wednesday 30th September 2026 & Tuesday 10th November 2026 - Wednesday 18th November 2026.

Dr Cam 💐will be off for the following periods:
Monday 12th October 2026 - Friday 23rd October 2026 & Thursday 24th December 2026.

If you require URGENT medical attention during the Christmas closure, please present to the nearest emergency department 🏥or call 000 for an ambulance 🚑.

Maitland Medicare Urgent Care Clinic, located at 3 Day Street, East Maitland NSW 2323, will remain open 7 days a week during the holiday period, including Christmas day and Boxing day.
The Urgent Care clinic is a walk in and bulk billed service that can be used for non-life-threatening conditions that doesn't require the emergency department but can't wait until a GP appointment is available.

For non-emergency or urgent care, patients can call 13SICK on 13 74 25 for a telephone or home visit appointment.

Please starting checking your prescriptions/referrals etc and make an appointment with a GP in advance to ensure you are covered for the practice closure.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month!

1 in 6 men will develop prostate cancer in their lifetime. 📊 That's your father, your brother, your mate. Research is the difference between a diagnosis and a future.
Prostate Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer in men around Australia. Around 72 men are diagnosed every day and approximately 11 men die every day due to the cancer.

As someone who's father just had a Proctectomy due to Prostate Cancer, i am STRONGLY encouraging all Males over the age of 50 to chat to their GP about PSA testing. Males with a family history of prostate cancer should start talking to their GP about PSA testing, starting at age 40.
Any male with any type of urinary symptoms should seek medical attention as soon as possible.

4CYTE PATHOLOGY IS NOW OPEN 5 DAYS A WEEK AT TMC.

Pathology will be onsite Monday to Friday, 8am -3pm.

Come on down to the surgery any weekday to have your pathology needs taken care of.
Any paper pathology referral is accepted, even from a different pathology company.

If you have a QR code referral for any pathology company besides 4Cyte pathology, pop on down to the surgery to see if your referral can be accessed via 4Cyte's system.

If you need to get in contact with 4Cyte pathology here at Tenambit Medical Centre, please do not call the practice. Call 4Cyte Pathology's TMC number directly which is: 0411 024 056.

Today we are celebrating 10 years of Sarah! 🥰

Most of our regulars know Sarah. She was the friendly receptionist sitting behind the front desk or talking to you over the phone for 6 years before taking over and managing the practice over the last 4.

Most of our regulars have watched Sarah go through all different fazes in her career. From a young Junior Receptionist to Practice Manager.

You have watched Sarah grow up into the person she is today.

Sarah started back at our practice in 2016 at 17 years old. Throughout her 10 years at TMC, she has worked hard, studied, up-skilled at age 19 to become a Medical Practice Assistant to assist our nurse and doctors.
Then in early 2022, at age 23, she stepped into the role of Practice Manager and hasn't looked back since.

Sarah has become a permeant fixture at the practice.
We appreciate how hard she works for our practice and how hard she works to always help out our patients in the best way she possibly can.

Thank you for your dedication to Tenambit Medical Centre over the last 10 years Sarah.
We look forward to another 10 years working with you, under your management.

** UPDATE - PUPPIES HAVE GONE HOME**

Is anyone in Tenambit missing some beautiful puppies?
We have found 4 dogs this morning wondering Maize street. Unfortunately we were unable to grab the 4th a large black lab type dog.
We have the other 3 securely in our yard. If one of these little guys is yours, please reach out to the practice.

The sick season has arrived. 😷

TMC has plenty of Flu vaccines available along with the RSV vaccine for those eligible for a government funded vaccine.

If you fall outside of the eligibility for a government funded vaccine but would like to get one anyway, don't worry! Private flu vaccines can be purchased from the practice for $26.00.

As for the RSV vaccination, during a doctors consultation the doctor can provide you with a prescription to get the vaccine from a pharmacy. Please note that we do not set the price for private RSV vaccines, this is set by the manufacture & pharmacies.

If you want further information, give the practice a call on 02 4933 3566 and discuss with our friendly team.

Influenza activity has increased to a moderate level. COVID-19 remained at a low level of activity. RSV remained at a high level of activity. Influenza vaccines are available and recommended for everyone aged 6 months and over, especially those at higher risk of severe illness. Don’t wait! Book your flu vaccine today.

RSV vaccines are recommended and free for adults aged 75+ and pregnant women.

We are super excited to announce, that starting the first week of August 2026, 4Cyte Pathology will be onsite 5 days a week, YAY!

No more waiting for Wednesdays or Fridays for your blood tests!

4Cyte will be here Monday to Friday, 8am-3pm.

We look forward to having the local community come down and visit our practice soon.

Tenambit Medical Centre now has the RSV Vaccination in stock and eligible patients are encouraged to call the practice and book in. If you arent covered by the government, you can see a Dr and get a private script to buy the vaccine from a pharmacy.

Influenza Vaccines have finally arrived. We've got a number of vacancies on the 20th May, so if you need to book in call now on 0249333566.

Government funded influenza vaccines are available too:
all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and over all children aged 6 months to less than 5 years of age
all individuals aged 5 years and over with medical risk conditions
pregnant women (influenza vaccine can be given at any stage of pregnancy)
people aged 65 years and over

If you are not eligible for a government funded vaccine you can purchase a private vaccine from us for $26.00
