Perfectly Made Early Childhood Intervention

Perfectly Made Early Childhood Intervention Perfectly Made Early Childhood Intervention I have a passion, extensive experience and additional qualification in autism and neurodiversity.

I offer comprehensive early childhood intervention tailored to children aged 0-8 years, where their unique strengths and needs are embraced. As an experienced practitioner and a mother of five children, including four who are autistic and have ADHD as well as other challenges, I am dedicated to supporting the growth and development of every child and their families. My wide-ranging services encomp

ass early literacy and numeracy support, social and emotional learning, fine and gross motor skill development, Lego play therapy, transition to school, and the highly effective SoundsWrite program. By fostering a nurturing environment, I create a solid foundation for your child's educational journey and overall well-being. Children with vision impairments hold a special place in my heart, as my daughter is legally blind. Drawing from personal experience, I offer specialised assistance to children facing similar challenges, ensuring they receive the individualised support they need to thrive. With two early childhood degrees, including an Honours research in exploring the power of play as an educational tool, and a postgraduate qualification in autism, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. My specialisation in autism and ADHD equips me with valuable insights to effectively support children with these neurological profiles. As a neuroaffirming practitioner, I embrace a positive and inclusive approach that recognises and celebrates the strengths and abilities of every child. By creating a supportive and accepting environment, I foster their self-esteem and promote a sense of belonging. I am well-versed in the best practices of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and am able to provide support in a key worker role. Through this collaborative approach, I work closely with families and other professionals to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to intervention. I am passionate about working closely with both the child and their family, recognising the crucial role family plays in a child's growth and development. By collaborating and creating a supportive partnership, we can navigate challenges together and achieve meaningful progress. As part of my commitment to comprehensive support, I offer SoundsWrite tutoring style intervention, an evidence-based program that enhances literacy skills. By utilising this proven methodology, I equip children with the tools they need for successful reading and writing. I chose the name Perfectly Made, because I believe each child is already made perfect. I don’t seek to change them or ‘fix’ them, because they aren’t broken in any way. Instead, your child's unique abilities are cherished, and wholistically I aim to unlock their potential within. If this is what you are after, feel free to contact me to explore how my neuroaffirming approach and expertise can make a difference in your child's life. Together, we will navigate the path to growth, development, and success

The Early Intervention Impact Tracker is now live.
Real experiences. Real stories.
Early intervention is changing.
Across Australia, changes to the NDIS, funding, eligibility and the way early supports are being designed and delivered are already affecting children, families, therapists and communities.
But the real-world impact of these changes isn’t always captured in the data used to make decisions.
We want to change that.
The Early Intervention Impact Tracker has been created to document what is actually happening on the ground and build a collective picture of what these changes mean for children and families.
If something has changed for your child or family, we want to hear about it.
It might be:
• reduced or changed funding
• difficulty accessing early intervention or allied health
• longer waits for support
• losing a trusted therapist or service
• having fewer choices about how or where support is provided
• increased costs or pressure on your family
• changes to your child’s participation, wellbeing or opportunities
• uncertainty about what happens next
• or something we haven’t thought of.

Your story does not need to be polished or perfect.
Write a little or a lot. Use dot points. Tell us in your own words.
And if something else happens later, come back and tell us again.
One experience might feel small on its own. When we bring hundreds and thousands of experiences together, they become powerful evidence of what is really happening.
We will use this collective information to advocate, raise awareness, inform decision-makers and help ensure the voices and experiences of children and families are part of conversations about the future of early intervention.
If it is affecting your child or family, it matters.

Please share this post so we can reach families, carers, therapists and communities across Australia.
Every experience adds to the bigger picture.

This is called Object Constancy (similar to object permanence) and it affects ADHDers in a bunch of ways you probably don't realise:
👉 veggies go off in the fridge cause you forgot they were in there
👉 you don't really miss people cause you tend to forget they exist when they aren't in front of oyu (I'm leaving this typo here so I don't get accused on my stuff being AI)
👉 you are genuinely surprised when people say 'hey i thought about you the other day' cause that seems like magic
👉 someone asks what your favourite movie is and you suddenly can't think of a single movie you've ever watched
👉 you get a bill in the mail and say "I'll get round to paying that" and then go "Gah!" when you get the reminder bill
👉 your parents ask you to clean the kitchen before they get home, you say you will but you never go in the kitchen again - out of sight out of mind. Then you hear the car pull up and SUDDENLY you remember!!

The list goes on!!!

It can be kinda funny at times - like how the heck did I lose my pen, I didn't even get up! It can be frustrating at others. But if you're wondering what's going on sometimes - that's what it is. No point fighting it, just have a giggle at your funny little baby brain sometimes and move on.

Thanks to for this

This is so well articulated.

What does this neat little chart mean?

Well, it's the mechanism in the upcoming NDIS Bill - you know, the one that Australian Labor Party is determined to pass, but that most politicians don't understand - that enables the Federal Government to 'claw back' money that they say we are not entitled to.

Like the autistic man who was abused in care - the NDIS now say that his payout for childhood sexual abuse is their money, and they want it back. https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2026/jun/21/danes-payout-for-historical-sexual-abuse-meant-the-ndis-slashed-his-funding-he-and-his-mum-are-fighting-back-ntwnfb

Or the thousands of people who are now being told that they didn't leave their support workers at the door, so it's 'duplication of support'. If we do so now, the NDIA say that they can force us to pay the support funds back to them - even though nursing is not disability support work, that nurses shouldn't need to do double their already hectic workload, and individualised support means that a caregiver is the best person to inform someone about someone's needs.

This is Robodebt writ large, inflicted on disabled people. And this upcoming legislation makes it perfectly legal, so we can no longer sue them.

The NDIS's own actuaries say that under these changes, more disabled people are predicted to die in the next few years.

Contact your Senators offices today and tell them loud and clear - we will vote for those who support us, and we will be watching who votes for this Bill in the upcoming Senate vote. They must say NO to these punitive cuts and changes, or our blood will be on their hands.

You reward the behavior you want, you take away privileges for the behavior you don't. It's a standard playbook. But, Alfie Kohn's Think Sensory Summit Session makes the case that both halves of it backfire, and for neurodivergent kids, it's even more costly.

In his session, titled Punished by Rewards - Why Rewards and Punishments Both Fail Kids, Kohn's argument is blunt: manipulating kids' behavior with rewards and punishments, training them as though they were pets, is both morally objectionable and, according to decades of research, unlikely to work in the long run.

Rewards and punishments are two sides of the same coin, each built on control, each undermining the intrinsic motivation and connection kids depend on.

He's especially direct about ABA, which he calls particularly destructive for autistic children. Part of that is the preoccupation with measurable behaviors that ignores the experience of the human being doing them. Part of it is the message underneath: "You are valuable only when you act the way you are told."

The session gets into what it looks like to work WITH kids instead: supporting autonomy, helping them consider how their actions affect others, and offering acceptance that doesn't have to be earned.

Alfie Kohn is the author of 14 books, including Punished by Rewards and Unconditional Parenting, plus articles like "Autism and Behaviorism" and "Five Reasons to Stop Saying 'Good Job!'" Time magazine once called him "perhaps the country's most outspoken critic of education's fixation on grades and test scores."

You can watch his session by registering for The Think Sensory Summit - a FREE 4-day online event, November 16-19, 2026, for therapists, educators, and parents supporting neurodivergent kids.
