Many women are surprised by how much healing happens after a caesarean section—not just at the scar, but through the abdominal wall, pelvic floor, nervous system and whole body.

At Matremaga Physiotherapy, we support women through every stage of recovery with practical strategies to:
🌿 Protect healing tissues
🌿 Restore core and pelvic floor function
🌿 Manage scar recovery
🌿 Return to exercise safely
🌿 Build confidence in your body again

Whether your caesarean was planned or unexpected, you deserve expert guidance and compassionate support.

Recovery isn't about "bouncing back."
It's about moving forward with strength, patience and confidence.

💚 Support for every season.

Preparing for labour is key to confidence and success. Most women know labour is intense but may not have a "toolkit" of coping strategies to hang in there without medication or escalating interventions. Pelvic floor physio can provide a customised strategy for your situation (first baby, VBAC, history of prolapse, tailbone fracture etc). Take the time to complete an individual antenatal session so you can find out what will work for you, not just " group" or " online" tips.

Is pelvic floor physiotherapy expensive? While it's true we charge more than a "regular" physio due to our specialised training and advanced scope of clinical skills, pelvic physio provides an affordable alternative to specialist referral in many cases

WHY SACRIFICE YOUR WHOLE BODY HEALTH FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR VA**NA??

Many women are told that they can NO LONGER RUN after prolapse diagnosis! This information is untrue and harmful, since running has many benefits for bone density, weight management, cardiovascular fitness and psychological wellness. Pelvic floor physio can help with optimising pelvic floor muscle function and provide appropriate supports for damaged ligaments and fascia, then tweak your training program to get you back out enjoying what you love to do.

Pelvic pressure is a very common symptom, particularly during pregnancy, postpartum recovery, peri-menopause, or after periods of increased physical strain. While it can feel worrying, it does not always mean something is “wrong” or damaged. Often, it is the body’s way of signalling that the muscles, connective tissues, nerves, or organs of the pelvis are under increased load or require support.

A pelvic floor physiotherapy assessment can help determine why the pressure is occurring and provide an individualised management plan. Treatment may include pelvic floor retraining, breathing and pressure management strategies, bowel and bladder support, exercise modification, prolapse management, pessary fitting, or guided return to activity.

To all the women in our community today — we see you.

Mothers are at the heart of our clinic, and we know motherhood can be one of the most meaningful, beautiful, overwhelming and exhausting roles there is.

Whether today brings joy, gratitude, love, grief, longing, loneliness, heartbreak, hope, or a mixture of it all — your feelings are valid, and you matter deeply.

We honour the mothers, the mothers-to-be, those longing to become mothers, those navigating loss, those mothering others in quiet ways, and those finding today difficult for reasons unseen.

Be gentle with yourself today. 🤍
