If you’re living with diabetes, regular podiatry care plays an important role in your broader healthcare team. 💙
Elevated blood glucose levels can affect peripheral circulation and nerve sensitivity (neuropathy) in the feet. Over time, reduced sensation can make it harder to notice minor skin irritations or pressure areas.
At Pivot Podiatry, a comprehensive Diabetes Foot Assessment includes:
- Doppler Vascular Assessment: Designed to evaluate arterial blood flow to the lower limbs.
- Neurological Sensation Testing: Used to assess nerve response and protective sensation.
- Preventative Foot Education: Practical guidance on self-monitoring and daily foot care at home.
Consistent monitoring is key to maintaining lower limb health. Is your annual foot assessment due? 🩺

Ingrown Nails 🦶

Dealing with painful ingrown nails?

Our team provides thorough assessments and a range of evidence-based management options. We consider the severity and the duration of the condition to help determine the most appropriate pathway for your needs.

Conservative Nail Care
Focuses on precisely clearing and shaping the nail border, aimed at relieving the immediate pressure and discomfort caused by the ingrown edge.

Onyfix Nail Bracing
A non-invasive application to the surface of the nail designed to guide growth and address the highly curved structure that often leads to ingrown nails. This can be utilised alongside conservative care.

Nail Surgery
Performed in our clinical rooms under local anaesthetic, minor nail surgery is a well-established management option designed to offer long-term relief for chronic or severe recurrent ingrown nails.

Over having to deal with persistent ingrown nails? Personalised podiatry care is available to support your recovery. Book an assessment today.

The countdown is officially on! With just 5 weeks left until the Sydney Marathon on August 30, Nicholas has been putting in the hard yards. 🏃‍♂️💨
Since April, he has clocked up over 480km out on the road. It hasn’t all been smooth sailing, though. As a podiatrist, he knows that listening to your body is non-negotiable—and a recent setback with a sore Achilles tendon meant he had to practice what he preaches, slow down, and focus on recovery. 🩺
The good news? He’s back on track, recovering well, and ready to tackle the final, most intense block of training.
But the best news of all is Nick has reached his goal. Thanks to your incredible generosity, Nicholas has raised $3,581 from his $3,500 fundraising target for Breast Cancer Trials! 🎀
Seeing the support from our patients, friends, and family has been the ultimate motivation on those cold winter mornings. If you’ve been meaning to donate, your contribution today could help save lives, click the link below to help us continue to raise more money for life-saving breast cancer research. 👇

Winter Foot Care: More than just thick socks. ❄️
During the colder months, feet are often tucked away in heavy footwear. This dark, enclosed environment can increase the risk of fungal infections or exacerbate issues like ingrown toenails and callus build-up.
Maintaining foot health in winter is key to identifying potential issues early. Our Podiatrists offer General Treatments to assess skin and nail health, providing professional management for your comfort and wellbeing.
Don't wait for symptoms to progress. Book a clinical assessment with our team today to ensure your feet remain healthy throughout the season.

Diabetes & Your Feet: Why the Annual Check Matters 🩺
For those living with diabetes, foot health is a critical part of overall wellbeing. Over time, elevated blood glucose levels can affect the nerves and blood circulation in the lower limbs.
Because these changes can happen gradually, you may not always notice small injuries, blisters, or temperature changes. A professional assessment is designed to identify these risks early.

What happens during a Diabetes Foot Assessment?
Our Podiatrists perform a non-invasive clinical screening which includes:
- Vascular Assessment: Checking pulses and blood flow to the feet.
- Neurological Screening: Testing for "protective sensation" to ensure you can feel pressure or injury.
- Dermatological Review: Inspecting the skin for corns, calluses, or dryness that could lead to breakdown.
- Footwear Education: Reviewing your daily shoes to ensure they provide adequate protection.

We recommend that all people with diabetes have a comprehensive foot assessment at least once every 12 months. If you have identified risk factors, we may recommend more frequent monitoring. Regular checks are a proactive way to manage your health.
