ANNOUNCEMENT #3: BACKFLIP!
This is not at all the original announcement I had planned. It is a hard a heartbreaking moment for me to share with you all that The Tree House will be taking a pause in 2022.
The current health crisis in our community has evolved to a point where I can no longer safely manage the space for myself, my family and you my beautiful and valued clients.
What is being asked of small businesses at this time is simply becoming unachievable for me, particularly during my pregnancy.
To shed some light for you, I've outlined some of the reasons I've made this difficult decision:
* As my pregnancy progresses it will become increasingly challenging for me to constantly climb ladders and retrieve hammocks for washing as well as sanitising the whole studio every single lesson.
* My prenatal experience and privileges will become significantly compromised by virus exposure (which is already high risk through my work as a school teacher).
* The safety of aerial lessons is being compromised by having to maintain social distancing and a hands off approach to guiding students through sequences without physical support. Something that goes against the very essence of my aerial teaching pedagogy.
* The time, costs, stress and heartache of potential closure, testing, isolating, deep cleaning etc should we become an exposure site, is simply too much for me to manage in the coming months.
Things are incredibly weird at present. There is so much confusion, fear and inconsistency. Everything changes in the blink of an eye and keeping up with current rules, regulations and recommendations whilst shutting out the misinformation and media propaganda is making it incredibly difficult for businesses to survive and for individuals to decide how to best navigate their daily lives. In ordinary circumstances I would be far more inclined to 'stick it to the man' but at present I must put my family first. As we are welcoming our baby girl in winter we will be taking some time to adjust to our new family dynamic and will then reassess how to move forward. This is not the end and there is much taking place behind the scenes that I will continue to unveil
