Leaking after having a baby is common. But that doesn’t mean you have to accept it as your new normal.

Pelvic floor symptoms are often dismissed with comments like:

“Everyone leaks after having a baby.”
“Just do more Kegels.”
“It will get better on its own.”

But pelvic health is more nuanced than that.

The right treatment depends on why you're leaking, how your pelvic floor is functioning, and what your body needs.

For many women, supervised pelvic floor muscle training is an effective first-line approach for stress and mixed urinary incontinence, but technique, consistency and the right progression matter.

And pelvic floor rehabilitation isn't simply about doing more exercises.

It can involve:
✔ Understanding your symptoms
✔ Assessing pelvic floor strength and coordination
✔ Learning how to contract and relax effectively
✔ Improving breathing and pressure management
✔ Gradually returning to exercise and activities you enjoy

You don't need to be embarrassed about leaking. And you don't need to simply put up with it.

Your symptoms are worth talking about. Your recovery deserves a plan. 💛

📍 Book a Women's Health Physiotherapy assessment at Procure Physio for an individualised, evidence-informed approach to your pelvic health.

Is this normal after birth?” If you’ve typed that into Google at 2am, this is for you.

The postnatal period comes with a lot of new sensations and changes in your body and it can be hard to know what’s expected, what’s manageable, and what’s worth getting checked.

Leaking? Heaviness? Abdominal separation you can feel? Difficulty returning to exercise? Lower back pain that hasn’t resolved?

These are all common. And they all have pathways to improvement with the right postnatal support.

You don’t have to figure it out alone on Google at 2am.

Follow us and share this with a new mum in your life who needs it. 💛 Postnatal physio support in Western Sydney.

A proud moment for Procure Physio

We’re incredibly proud to be hosting the PESSARIES INTRO: Introduction to Pessary Fitting course with the renowned Dr Melissa Davidson PhD right here at Procure Physio.

For us, this is about more than simply opening our doors to a course.

It reflects what we believe in, bringing high-quality, evidence-informed education into our community and continuing to raise the standard of women’s pelvic health care.

Pessary management can be an important conservative option for women living with pelvic organ prolapse, and this hands-on course gives pelvic health professionals the opportunity to develop practical skills in assessment, pessary selection and fitting, alongside clinical reasoning and patient management.

Here’s to continued learning, collaboration and better care for women.
