We're always looking for ways to make village life even better, and your feedback plays a big part in that.

Last year, you told us that you'd like improved communication on care options. In response, we've hosted information sessions on the changes to My Aged Care funding and from local care providers.

This is just one example of how resident feedback directly influences decisions within our village.

Our independent Resident Satisfaction Survey will open soon, and we encourage every resident to have their say.

Your feedback helps us celebrate what's working well, understand what matters most, and identify opportunities to make village life even better.

Our inaugural pool competition came to a close in a sensational showdown this weekend with David and Maurie shooting it out for victory. David took the crown by 2 games to 1 with the last game being decided on the final ball! Great to see so many keen spectators in attendance too.

Tonight's Fathers Day Dinner was scrumptious, from the very first bite of the home made beef and guinness pie to the final mouthful of rich sticky date pudding. Hearty deliciousness!
The sports theme was eagerly embraced with many a footy jumper in attendance. A fitting eve to a celebration of the father figures in our lives.

Last night's trivia raised a lot of questions ❓️❔️. Not least of which will have all our viewers at home diving for the Allens packet: how long CAN you make a single Mintie wrapper simply by tearing it? Judge for yourself. Our judge, Nerida, along with game show host, David (really need to buy that man a bedazzled jacket 🤔) did an amazing job of running our first trivia night. This morning we had the absolute pleasure of hosting invited guests at a morning tea in honour of our Betty for a double celebration 🍰💐. Betty turns 96 this month! She has lived at Boambee Gardens for eleven years, initially in an Independent Living Unit, then in a Serviced Apartment. And, as if turning 96 isn't reason enough to party, Betty is moving overseas next week! She will move into the capable care of her son and his beautiful wife, both of whom have become part of our extended BGE family. Betty is well known and loved. We will miss you all. Safe travels and a very Happy Birthday to you, Betty 🛫🥳

A friendly reminder about the upcoming Australia-wide test of the new AusAlert emergency warning system.

On Monday, 27 July, compatible mobile devices across Australia will receive a test emergency alert. This is a planned national test designed to help ensure the system works effectively when it is needed in a real emergency.

When the test alert is received, your mobile device may vibrate, play a loud siren-like tone and display a message clearly identifying the alert as a test. While the sound may be unexpected, there is no cause for concern.

The test alert is scheduled for:
2.00 pm (AEST) in Queensland and New South Wales
1.30 pm (ACST) in South Australia

You do not need to do anything when you receive this test alert.

AusAlert will become Australia's new emergency warning system and, in a real emergency, will be used to share important information about events such as bushfires, floods and other significant incidents.

If you have any questions or concerns about the test, please speak with the Village Office or visit https://www.ausalert.gov.au/alerts-explained/national-test for more information.

Bonsoir!! Bastille Day made for some fabulous French festivities at BGE. Our French inspired dinner was an absolute treat. Our Boeuf Bourguignon served with crusty baguette followed by Tarte Tatin & French Vanilla ice cream paired beautifully with Blanc De Blancs or a Rosé. The room had a distinctly French vibe with plenty of Eiffel Tower feels and soooo many berets! We are so blessed to have such participation at our events. Check out these photos. While it was a French theme, there was no dress code. BGE does love a theme! 🇫🇷👩‍🎨🥂 Vive la France.

This morning's Biggest Morning Tea was fabulous! Cupcakes 🧁, coffees ☕️, crafts 🧣, crochet 🧶 and conversation 🗣. And in the end, one amazing cash donation for the Cancer Council, courtesy of our generous residents, visitors and our team members.
Over $2,000! Cash donations, raffle ticket sales, tea cup sweeps, stallholder donations and the takings from a very successful craft stall contributed to our impressive total. Thank you all for your hard work and generosity 🙏.
