It’s no longer 2009 and I’m still out here defending soy.
Yes, it’s filled with isoflavones/plant oestrogens and for that reason it’s one of the first foods I reach for any time I support a woman over 35.
It’s functional, chosen for what it does, not what it’s worth on a label. And I prescribe it to buffer the drop-offs when oestrogen decides to bounce around.
Tofu is one of the highest isoflavone foods you can find and not only versatile but cheap. Cook until crispy and throw it into a salad, Konjac noodles, and a glass of pomey juice on the side and you’re doing some serious gut support.
