Toowoomba!

One of the biggest mistakes people make is thinking the treatment is the most important part. In reality, the diagnosis is.

Here, every consultation starts with listening to your story, helping you understand your previous scans, assessing your posture and movement, performing a physical examination guided by the latest research, and testing muscle strength where needed.

Only after putting all of that information together do we create a treatment plan tailored to you.

If you have been struggling with back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, disc injuries, or posture related problems, our goal is to understand the cause before deciding on the best treatment.

Have you ever had your scans explained in a way that actually made sense?

Your body is good at finding a way to get the job done, even if it’s not the most efficient way.
When one joint isn’t moving well, or one area isn’t doing its share of the work, something else often has to pick up the slack. Over time, that can affect how you move, train and recover.
This is why I don’t just focus on where the pain is. I look at how your body moves as a whole to identify what’s contributing to the problem and what needs to change.
If you’ve been doing the right exercises but still aren’t getting the results you expected, there may be another piece of the puzzle that’s being missed.

In this video, we’re treating patellar tendinopathy (commonly known as jumper’s knee) using shockwave therapy.
When a tendon is overloaded for too long, it can start breaking down faster than your body can repair it. That’s why the pain often lingers instead of settling on its own.
Shockwave therapy delivers high-energy sound waves into the affected tendon to stimulate a healing response. Research has shown it can help reduce pain and improve function in chronic tendon conditions.
Because tendons have a relatively limited blood supply compared with many other tissues, they can be slower to heal once symptoms become persistent.
Shockwave therapy isn’t a magic fix. The best results come when it’s combined with a progressive loading program and targeted rehabilitation exercises.
If you’ve had ongoing pain below your kneecap that’s stopping you from running, jumping or exercising, it may be worth getting it assessed.

Most people think shoulder pain starts in the shoulder. Sometimes it does. But sometimes the shoulder is compensating for poor movement somewhere else. The shoulder relies on the muscles, shoulder blade and joints all working together. If one part isn’t doing its job, another part has to work harder. Shockwave therapy is a great tool to improve how the injured tissue tolerates load, but the most important part is finding out why that tissue became overloaded in the first place. That’s why we assess both the shoulder and the neck. The nerves that control the shoulder come from the neck, and if the joints in the neck or shoulder aren’t moving properly, it can change the way the shoulder functions.
The diagnosis always comes first.

Most people don’t associate their headaches with their jaw. But the way your jaw opens and closes can tell us a lot about how the joint is functioning. If your jaw deviates to one side, clicks, locks, or feels uneven when you open your mouth, it may indicate an imbalance in the joint or the muscles that control it. The muscles around the jaw have close anatomical connections to the head and neck, which is why jaw dysfunction can sometimes contribute to headaches. During our assessment, we don’t just ask where it hurts. We look at how the jaw moves, how the joints are functioning, and whether there are signs of compensation.Treatment is then guided by those findings and may include techniques to address the muscles around the jaw, improve joint movement, and reduce unnecessary strain.
If your jaw clicks, deviates, or you’re experiencing recurrent headaches, it’s worth having it assessed.

Your squat starts at your feet.
If your feet are not stable, everything above has to adapt.
That can change how load travels through the ankles, knees, hips, pelvis and spine.
Research shows that squat mechanics are influenced by multiple factors, including foot position, ankle mobility and lower limb alignment. Limited ankle dorsiflexion has also been linked with changes such as increased knee valgus during squatting and landing tasks.
That is why, as chiropractors, we do not just look at the sore area.
We assess the feet, the ankle joints, the mechanics of the knees, the hips, the pelvis and the spine, because the body works as one connected system.
If the foundation is unstable, the body may compensate higher up.
Improving how the foot and ankle move can help improve the input from the ground up, allowing the body to move more efficiently and distribute load more effectively.
Movement is only as strong as its foundation.
If your squat feels uneven, unstable, or you feel it more in your knees, hips or lower back, it may be worth having your mechanics assessed.

Waking up with neck pain? Your pillow might be keeping your neck under stress all night.
Neck pain affects around 203 million people worldwide, and while there can be many causes, one factor people often overlook is the position their neck stays in while they sleep. As chiropractors, we look at how your spine is being loaded! not just during the day, but also overnight. If your pillow is too high or too low, your neck can sit side-bent, rotated, flattened, or pushed forward for hours.
Research on pillow ergonomics shows that pillow height can influence cervical spine alignment, pressure on the head and neck, and neck muscle activity.
That matters because adults generally spend 7 to 9 hours in bed each night. If your neck is not supported properly, the joints can stay under stress and the muscles may remain switched on to protect the area instead of relaxing overnight.
For side sleepers, your pillow should fill the space between your shoulder and your head so your ear lines up with your shoulder.
For back sleepers, your pillow should support the natural curve of your neck without pushing your head forward or flattening the curve.
This is why we currently stock the Complete Sleeper Pillow in clinic. It has adjustable inserts, which allows us to help patients find a more suitable pillow height based on their body shape, shoulder width, and sleeping position.
There is no single “perfect pillow” for everyone, but the evidence supports matching pillow height and support to the person.
Sleep is not just about how long you’re in bed. It’s also about the position your spine is held in while you recover.
Ask us in clinic if you want help checking whether your pillow height is right for your neck.

Pain rarely comes from a single moment. It builds over time through repeated stress, posture, habits, and previous injuries. Most of it goes unnoticed until the body reaches a threshold. That final movement is usually not the cause. It just exposes what has already been accumulating. Chiropractic care isn’t just about settling a flare up. It’s about identifying what has been adding to the load and changing how the body handles it.
If the pain felt sudden, the buildup wasn’t.

Most people are treated based on what feels weak rather than what is actually underperforming. The Muscle Meter gives us objective strength data. That matters because asymmetries in muscle function can change how load is distributed through joints and surrounding tissues over time.Instead of guessing, we measure. Then we combine that with a full chiropractic assessment of the spine and joints to understand how everything is working together. From there, treatment is targeted. Adjustments to restore joint motion, and specific rehab to address the imbalance. That’s how you move from temporary relief to actually improving function. If nothing has been measured, the plan is built on assumptions.

If you’re using your hands all day like hairdressing, training, or working with tools, that constant load adds up over time
Eventually the tissue just can’t tolerate the same stress like it used to, and that’s when the pain starts creeping in
Shockwave helps stimulate blood flow and support tissue repair, but that’s only one piece of it
We combine it with chiropractic care to improve how the joints are moving and how the load is being distributed
If you don’t change how it’s being used, it’ll keep coming back
