Iona Medical Centre is committed to promoting health, wellbeing and disease prevention to all patients. We do not discriminate in the provision of excellent care and aim to treat all patients with dignity and respect. Iona Medical Centre was established in 2001 by a group of local General Practitioners who relocated their individual practices to our current location thus continuing the building's long history as a medical establishment.

Every day, 2 million Australians live with diabetes, managing something most people never fully see.

This National Diabetes Week (12–18 July 2026), Diabetes Australia is amplifying their voices through Living Out Loud: a campaign inviting people living with diabetes, their carers, researchers, health professionals, and clinicians to say, out loud and without apology, the one thing they’ve always wished people knew.

Kidney Health Week 2026 — 1 to 7 July

1 in 10 Australians have chronic kidney disease — and most don't know it. 90% of kidney function can be lost before any symptoms appear. But when caught early, kidney disease is manageable and kidney cancer is highly treatable.
Talk to your GP about a kidney health check this week.

Every year on 14 June, the world comes together to celebrate World Blood Donor Day, a global tribute to the millions of voluntary, unpaid blood donors whose generosity saves lives every day. Their contributions are essential to health systems everywhere, supporting patients during emergencies, childbirth, surgeries, cancer treatment and the lifelong care of many serious conditions.

Thank you to all blood donors for your drop of humanity. Every donation helps form a shared lifeline of solidarity, compassion and care that saves lives every day.
