🌼💛 Daffodil Day at Carbal 💛🌼

What an amazing day! It was wonderful to see so many of our staff getting involved and showing their support for such an important cause.

From wearing yellow and dressing up to simply helping raise awareness, every effort helps support people impacted by cancer and the vital work of Cancer Council.

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved today, we loved seeing the enthusiasm, smiles and sea of yellow throughout the workplace! 🌼💛

Our Carbal team was proud to attend the Homeless Persons’ Week Expo & Community BBQ at Toowoomba Library Civic Square today. 💙

At our stall, we shared health and service information, offered support and referrals, and provided free hearing checks through our Hearing Health team.

A range of local services were also on there, including housing support, hairdressing, allied health, food, clothing, bedding and so much more.

The weather may not have been on our side, but it certainly didn’t dampen the community spirit. It was also a gentle reminder of the challenges people experiencing homelessness face every day.

A meaningful day of connection, care and community. 🤝

Today we celebrate our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Health Practitioners 🖤💛❤️

This year’s theme, Many Paths, Many Ways, celebrates their journeys and hopes for the future 🌿

Jannah: “I hope the profession continues to grow, creating more opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to support their communities.”

Kristy: “I hope we see more people entering the profession and continue making a positive difference for our mob and communities.”

Today, our brothers came together for a relaxed morning of connection, culture and conversation. It was a great opportunity for the mob to meet, share a yarn and begin building a strong and supportive space where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men can walk together, not alone.

A special thank you to Uncle Colin, our guest of the day, for joining us and sharing his time, stories and wisdom. We’re also grateful to everyone who helped make our first gathering so special.

We’re excited for the yarns, cultural learning, shared meals and connections still to come!

👋🏾 We’re saying farewell to Johnsy… again! 😄

After retiring last year, Johnsy came back to join us again this year. Now, he’s decided it’s time to retire for real… we think (hope)! 😂

Over the years, Johnsy has made such a positive impact on Carbal and the communities we serve. His hard work, experience, dedication and good humour.. have meant so much to all of us.

We’re so grateful he came back for one more chapter, even if it was only for a little while.

Thank you for everything, Johnsy. You’ll always be part of the Carbal family, and we wish you all the best for retirement round two! 💙
