Meet Michael πŸ’šπŸ’™

Michael has been working with his Physio Maria, and Allied Health Assistant Kirra, to improve his strength, balance, and mobility.

Because Michael loves being outdoors, his program is built around the things he enjoys most, whether that's swimming in the ocean, exercising on the sand, or making the most of the Newcastle Ocean Baths.

Recently, Michael shared that he used to spend a lot of time at Glenrock when he was younger, but hadn't walked the trails for many years. So together, they set a new challenge.

The result?

A successful bushwalk through steep inclines, endless stairs, rocky terrain, and plenty of determination. Michael tackled every obstacle with confidence and proved just how far he has come.

Now he has his sights set on the next goal: the Yuelarbah Track. πŸ’ͺ

This is what personalised therapy looks like... building goals around the things that matter most to each individual.

Congratulations to Michael, Maria and Kirra! What a team! πŸ†

πŸ§ πŸ’™ Living with Motor Neuron Disease (MND) can impact nearly every part of daily life, from movement and mobility through to communication, swallowing and breathing.

For many people and families, navigating these changes can feel overwhelming.

That’s where allied health can make a meaningful difference.

Our multidisciplinary team works alongside people living with MND to support comfort, independence, communication, function and quality of life at every stage of the journey.

Whether it’s mobility support, assistive technology, communication strategies, nutrition support or helping someone continue participating in the activities that matter to them, care is always centred around the individual and their goals.

Today, we stand alongside people living with MND, their families, carers and the broader community, while recognising the important role of multidisciplinary allied health support.

❀️ Today is World Blood Donor Day ❀️

Every day across Australia, blood and plasma donations help save lives.

They support people recovering from surgery, cancer treatment, traumatic injuries, chronic illness and medical emergencies. They help children, parents, grandparents, friends, clients and members of our community.

The reality is that around 1 in 3 Australians will need blood or blood products in their lifetime, but only around 1 in 30 currently donate.

At Recovery Station, we see firsthand how important healthcare and community support can be during some of life’s most challenging moments. Blood donation is one simple act that can have a life-changing impact for someone else.

Today, we recognise and thank the incredible blood and plasma donors helping support people and families across Australia. 🩸

Recently, our Team Co-ordinator Saga, celebrated a workiversary with Recovery Station and received a card (in old-school post) to mark the occasion. πŸ’™πŸ’š

What made our day even more was seeing Saga share it and describe Recovery Station as the "best workplace". 😊

While we're passionate about delivering great outcomes for our clients, we're equally committed to creating a workplace where our people feel valued, supported and connected.

Our admin team plays a huge (and we mean, huge!) role behind the scenes, keeping everything running smoothly and helping our clinicians focus on delivering exceptional care.

Thank you Saga, for everything you do. We're grateful to have you as part of the Recovery Station team and look forward to celebrating many more milestones together. ✨

Congratulations, Jarrod! πŸŽ“

We're celebrating a huge achievement for Jarrod, one of our Exercise Physiologists supporting clients across the Central Coast, who has recently completed a Master's in Neuroscience and Education.

Jarrod has a particular passion for supporting people with neurological, cognitive, and complex behavioural presentations, and his studies have further strengthened his knowledge in areas including:

🧠 ASD and ADHD
🧠 Dementia and Parkinson's disease
🧠 Stroke and spinal cord injury
🧠 Psychosocial and behavioural complexities
🧠 Neurological and multifaceted presentations

What we love most is seeing our clinicians continue to learn, grow, and bring that knowledge back to the people they support every day.

Congratulations on this incredible achievement, Jarrod. We're proud to have you on the team and can't wait to see the impact you'll continue to make for our clients and community. πŸ‘πŸ’šπŸ’™

We’re growing our team across Newcastle and the Hunter and looking for OTs who want flexibility, support, and an adult caseload. πŸ’ͺ

πŸ“ Maitland, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Central Coast

➑️ Full-time or part-time.

➑️ Graduate through to senior (we’d love to hear from experienced clinicians too).

➑️ This is a great fit if you’re looking to work with adults in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

What it looks like in practice -

🏑 Flexibility that actually means something: Set your start and finish times, work from home when it suits, and build a week that works for your life

πŸ“ A CPD plan that’s built with you: Whether you want to step into supervision or specialise (neuro, complex clients), we’ll support it

πŸ“… Control over your diary: Manage your own schedule, with admin support to handle bookings, funding and follow-ups

πŸ–οΈ Space to work your way: Multiple office locations, team connection, resources and monthly socials

πŸ’» The extras that make a difference: Laptop, phone allowance, travel reimbursement, performance bonuses, RDO, EAP, novated leasing and more...

If this sounds like the kind of role you’ve been looking for, we’d love to hear from you.
