Blackwell Funerals is honoured to be arranging the State Funeral Service for Professor Peter Buckskin AM PSM, a proud Narungga man, Aboriginal leader and educator. The service to honour his life and achievements will take place at 10.30am on Friday, 12 June 2026 at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 59 Newton Rd, Kaurna Country, Newton, South Australia.

If you wish to attend the State Funeral, please register your attendance via https://www.dpc.sa.gov.au/ProfessorBuckskin. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed free via the Department of the Premier and Cabinet’s website and on the SA Government Facebook.

In lieu of flowers, the family has kindly requested consideration for people and organisations wishing to honour Professor Buckskin, to donate to White Ribbon Australia and Cancer Council South Australia.

Family, friends, and members of the community are also invited to a public visitation to pay their respects in the Blackwell Funerals Chapel, 57-59 Portrush Road, Payneham, on Thursday 11 June 2026, between 2.00pm – 4.00pm.
